    • The present invention comprises a combined image generating unit 24 which reduces each document images and generates a combined image, so that multiple document images captured by a document image capturing unit 11 fit on a single sheet of printing paper in accord with the type of combined printing selected by a user via an operation unit 13; a printing control unit 25 which extracts marginal regions demarcating document images from the combined image, combines the combined image and advertisement image so that the advertisement image is displayed lengthwise to the marginal region, and generates an output image; and a printing unit 15 which prints the output image on printing paper.

    • A feedback calculator and a controller are disclosed which energize a throttle valve driver so that a vehicle speed Vs may be brought into coincidence with a target vehicle speed Vo which is instructed by a driver. The feedback calculator calculates a target acceleration AT on the basis of a vehicle speed Vs and a target speed Vo, and also detects a running acceleration Aa of the vehicle and calculates a deviation of the running acceleration Aa with respect to the target acceleration AT, Ad=AT-Aa. It chooses a high gain G when the deviation Ad is positive and its change dAd is also positive, and chooses a low gain G when the deviation Ad is negative and its change dAd is also negative, thus deriving a controlled variable D having a magnitude which depends on the deviation Ad and the gain G. The controller energizes the throttle valve driver in accordance with the controlled variable D, thus driving the throttle valve for opening or closing at a rate which depends on the controlled variable D. In this manner, no substantial steady-state speed deviation is produced.

    • A system for communicating data between two control units each capable of executing independent operations and having a memory for operations, the system is provided with a new data generator on one control unit. The new data generator generates new data for a selected item of the other control unit. The new data is combined with address data corresponding to the selected item of the memory of the other control unit to generate transmission data. The transmission data is sent to the other control unit and the new item data is written on the memory at the address specified by the transmission data. The data communication system communicates between the two control units data for a first kind of operations and data for a second kind of operations selectively. The first kind data is communicated repeatedly while the second kind data is communicated a single time.

    • A beam of electrically charged particles for illuminating a specimen is deflected by a deflection means so that the specimen is scanned with the beam bi-dimensionally. The information signal thus produced by the specimen is detected by a detector means and fed to a display apparatus incorporating therein another deflection means. The information signal is deflected by the latter deflection means to scan the display screen and is displayed thereon as an information image. A wave form of a signal produced in the latter deflection means is detected by a wave form detector means, the output of which is applied to the first mentioned deflection means to thereby deflect the electrically charged particle beam with a signal having a wave form similar to the detected one.
