    • The present disclosure relates to a technique for transmitting modulation symbols on multiple frequency resources. A method aspect of this technique includes applying a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) coding per set of modulation symbols of two or more sets of modulation symbols, wherein a first set of modulation symbols from the two or more sets of modulation symbols is transmitted on a set of frequency resources handled by the same power amplifier. Then, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is applied to the sets of DFT coded modulation symbols to output a first set of OFDM symbols for transmission on the set of frequency resources, and output another set of OFDM symbols for transmission on at least one additional frequency resource distinct from the set of frequency resources. Power amplification is then applied per set of frequency resources at the power amplifier.

    • Methods and apparatus for generating, transmitting, and processing error control information in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The error control information is designed so that the probability of a NACK-to-ACK error in transmission is lower than the probability for an ACK-to-NACK error. Multiple ACK/NACK bits are transmitted along with one or more side information bits that indicate the relative quantities of ACK values and NACK values among the ACK/NACK bits. In an exemplary method for generating error control information in a communication device, a plurality of ACK/NACK bits indicating whether corresponding transport blocks were successfully received are generated. One or more side information bits are formed as a function of the ACK/NACK bits, the side information bits indicating the relative quantities of ACK values and NACK values among the ACK/NACK bits, and transmitted along with the ACK/NACK bits to the remote communication node.

    • Power headroom reports may be transmitted from a wireless terminal to a base station wherein a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier are provided for uplink transmissions from the wireless terminal to the base station and wherein a respective component carrier index is assigned to each of the at least one secondary component carriers provided for the wireless terminal. Respective power headroom reports may be generated for the primary component carrier and for each of the at least one secondary component carriers, and a MAC control element may be generated including the power headroom reports for the primary and secondary component carriers. More particularly, the power headroom reports for each of the at least one secondary component carriers may be arranged in order of the component carrier indices for the respective secondary component carriers. The MAC control element including the power headroom reports for the primary and secondary component carriers may be transmitted from the wireless terminal to the base station over one of the component carriers. Related wireless terminals, and base stations are also discussed.

    • The invention relates to a method in a first communication device of receiving control information over a radio channel from a second communication device. The first communication device receives a subframe over the radio channel, and determines whether the subframe is a downlink subframe with downlink assignment intended for the first communication device by reading data in the subframe. That being the case, the first communication device decodes data within the subframe, and determines whether any data packet being sent from the second communication device before the subframe has been missed by analyzing an indicator associated to the subframe in the data. The indicator provides knowledge about previous downlink subframes with downlink assignment intended for the first communication device.

    • A receiver separates multiple component signals carried in a composite signal that have been spread over time and frequency. Multiple diversity branches receive the composite signal. A tensor generation circuit arranges samples of that signal along time, frequency, and diversity dimensions to obtain a composite signal tensor. A set of cascaded least squares estimators then separates the component signals by fitting a constrained tensor model of the composite signal to the composite signal tensor in an alternating least squares estimation process, alternating during any given iteration of the process between fitting different unfolded representations of the constrained tensor model to corresponding unfolded representations of the composite signal tensor. The tensor model models the composite signal as a linear combination of rank-one tensors associated with the component signals, and is constrained in the sense that each rank-one tensor remains constrained according to the spreading of its associated component signal over time.
