    • An interpolation method in an automatic programming, capable of properly determining and programming target movement amounts for individual axes in each interpolation cycle at the time of executing a numerical control program. In the case where the length (P') of the last one of a plurality of sub-sections, obtained by dividing a section from the starting point (A) to the end point (B) of each block in a program by a target movement amount (P) per interpolation cycle, is smaller than the value (P), and when an angle (.theta.) between the paths of the block concerned and the next block is smaller than a reference angle or when the angle (.theta.) is larger than the reference angle and the sub-section length (P') is smaller than a reference length, an intersection at which a sphere having the starting point (an) of the last sub-section as its center and theh value (P) as its radius crosses the target movement path of the next block is derived by the overlapping process, and the interpolation process for the last sub-section is effected with the intersection used as the target end point of the last sub-section. On the other hand, when the angle (.theta.) and the length (P') are larger than the reference angle and reference length, respectively, the interpolation process is effected with the original end point (B) used as the target end point of the last sub-section, without effecting the overlapping process.

    • An overcharge preventive device for an automotive battery charging circuit comprises an odorant sensor 6 for detecting the amount of gas generated from the battery 1 during charging (FIG. 3). A detector circuit 7 generates an overcharge detection signal when the amount of gas exceeds a predetermined level. In response thereto, the display or monitor lamp 8 displays the overcharged state, and the interruptor circuit 9 separates the alternator 5 from the battery 1. Alternatively, when the automobile has an audio device such as radio, a voltage detector 19 detects the voltage across the load 4 and outputs a signal when the voltage exceeds a predetermined level, an alarm signal generator 20 generating an audio signal in response to the output signal of the voltage detector 19, such that an alarm sound or voice is produced by a loudspeaker 17 via the amplifier 16 (FIG. 4).

    • The apparatus for controlling a damper in an air conditioning system for a vehicle. The damper is used for selectively opening air outlets, and is constructed as a film damper having one end wound on a drive shaft rotatably supported in a casing. The drive shaft is formed as a hollow shaft having an axial bore therein, in which an electric motor with a reduction gear is arranged. The outer body of the motor is fixedly inserted to the shaft, and has an output shaft fixedly connected to the casing, so that a rotation of the motor causes a relative rotation between the motor body connected to the hollow shaft and the outlet shaft connected to the casing. As a result of the rotation of the motor body, the drive shaft is rotated, resulting in a desired movement of the film damper.

    • A known fuel filter is formed by a meshed body in a bag shape made of a synthetic resin while the meshed body is penetrated to form a fuel passage which is open toward the inside of the meshed body. The known fuel filter is attached to a portion adjacent to a bottom of the fuel tank for preventing water and a dust accumulated inside the fuel tank from being drawn inside the fuel filter. However, the known fuel filter has the fuel passage penetrating the central portion of the meshed body so that the degree of freedom of attachment is reduced. On the other hand, a fuel filter according to the present invention comprises a piece of meshed body being folded double, an outer flange and an inner flange respectively having a fuel passage and being connected to each other from the inside and the outside of the doubled folded portion, a swollen supporter provided integrally with or separately from the inner flange. The peripheries of three sides of the meshed body are welded and the fuel pipe is connected to the outer flange. With such an arrangement, the fuel pipe can be installed along the side wall of the fuel tank. The swollen supporter may comprise a flat plate and a projecting wall projecting from the flat plate which crosses a longitudinal direction of the flat plate while a trimming hole is provided at a central portion of the flat plate and the swollen supporter is cantilevered so that the swollen supporter can be swung vertically.

    • A portable unit that may be called from a base station through a radio control channel by a succession of terminating call signals that is sent through the control channel from the base station to the portable unit for a first or restricted time duration (T.sub.1), selected in consideration of a battery saving period of a battery saving operation carried out in the portable unit. Within the battery saving period, the portable unit is put into transient active and inactive states during a first time interval and a second time interval, respectively. Selection is made so that the first time duration is longer than the second time interval to receive at least one of the terminating call signals within the first time duration in the portable unit. The base station monitors an acknowledgement signal for a second time duration (T.sub.2) after the lapse of the first time duration and interrupts the control channel when the acknowledgement signal is not received within the first and the second time durations. In the portable unit, the battery saving operation is released when the presence of the terminating call signals is detected by a squelch circuit.
