    • Capacitors (4, 6) are connected in series across a DC power supply (2). IGBTs (8, 10) are connected in series across the DC power supply (2), too. The IGBTs (8, 10) are rendered conductive alternately. A transformer (12) is connected between the junction of the capacitors (4, 6) and the junction of the IGBTs (8, 10). Snubber capacitors (32, 38) are connected in parallel with the IGBTs (8, 10), respectively. Diodes (34, 40) are connected in series with respective ones of the snubber capacitors (32, 38) in such a manner that said snubber capacitors (32, 38) can be charged when the IGBTs (8, 10) are rendered nonconductive. A secondary winding (54SA) of a transformer (54) is connected between the DC power supply (2) and the junction of the snubber capacitor (32) and the diode (34), and converts a secondary voltage of the transformer (12) and returns the converted voltage to the DC power supply (2) when the IGBT (8) is conductive. A secondary winding (54SB) of the transformer (54) is connected between the DC power supply (2) and the junction of the snubber capacitor (38) and the diode (40), and converts a secondary voltage of the transformer (12) and returns the converted voltage to the DC power supply (2) when the IGBT (10) is conductive.

    • A digital signal recording and reproducing apparatus has the following components: a digital information decoding circuit for outputting (a) a received digital information signal by selecting a channel, and (b) a first analog signal by selecting and decoding either one of a selected digital information signal, and a reproduced digital information signal of a recording medium; a recording and reproducing unit for outputting a reproduced digital signal, comprising (a) a digital signal recording unit for inputting the digital information signal of the channel selected and output by the digital information decoding circuit, and for recording on the recording medium, (b) a digital signal reproduction unit for reproducing the digital signal recorded on the recording medium, and (c) a first recording and reproduction unit for recording and reproducing an externally input analog video/audio signal on the recording medium as a second analog signal; a bus line for transmitting (a) the digital information signal of the channel selected and output by the digital information decoding circuit to the recording and reproducing unit, and (b) a digital information signal output by the recording and reproducing unit to the digital information decoding circuit; and an analog information selecting circuit for selecting and outputting either one of (a) the first analog signal decoded by the digital information decoding circuit, and (b) the second analog signal reproduced by the recording and reproducing unit.

    • A defect detecting apparatus for monitoring an electrical equipment for defects, the electrical equipment having a resonance frequency. The defect detecting apparatus includes a sensor operatively connected to the electrical equipment for sensing a signal indicating a defect in the electrical equipment; a first bandpass filter operatively connected to the sensor, the first bandpass filter having a first bandwidth and first center frequency at substantially the resonance frequency of the electrical equipment; a second bandpass filter operatively connected to the sensor, the second bandpass filter having a second bandwidth and a second center frequency higher than the resonance frequency of the electrical equipment; a signal strength comparing circuit operatively connected to the first bandpass filter and the second bandpass filter for comparing relative strengths of signals output by the first bandpass filter and the second bandpass filter; and a partial discharge measuring circuit operatively connected to the signal strength comparing circuit for measuring an output signal of the first bandpass filter relative to an output signal of the second bandpass filter to indicate a defect in the electrical equipment.

    • A fuel supply apparatus for use with a gaseous fuel engine is provided with an intake passage having an inlet port open to a cylinder and adapted for supplying air into the cylinder therethrough; a fuel supply device for supplying gaseous fuel into the cylinder, the fuel supply device including at least two fuel supply systems each of which is provided with fuel amount adjusting mechanism for adjusting an amount of gaseous fuel to be supplied, the fuel supply systems including high and low pressure fuel supply systems used in a high induction zone where a large amount of air is admitted into the cylinder and in a low induction zone where a small amount of air is admitted into the cylinder, the high pressure fuel supply system being constructed so that the gaseous fuel is supplied into the cylinder during a former half of a compression stroke following an air intake stroke of the engine at a pressure higher than a pressure in the cylinder through a gaseous fuel supply port open to the cylinder independently of the inlet port, and the low pressure fuel supply system being constructed so that the accuracy of adjusting the fuel amount when a fuel supply amount is small is higher than the high pressure fuel supply system; and control means for controlling actuation of the respective fuel supply systems according to an operating state of the engine.
