摘要： The invention provides a device, assembly, and method for transoral endoscopic restoration of a gastroesophageal flap valve. The invention also provides a self-steering and self-closing tissue fixation device for tissue fixation and an invaginator device for gripping and maneuvering tissue. The restoration device includes a longitudinal member arranged for transoral placement into a stomach, a tissue shaper carried on the longitudinal member that causes stomach tissue to assume a shape related to a gastroesophageal flap, and a tissue fixation device that maintains the shaped stomach tissue in a shape approximating a gastroesophageal flap. The tissue shaper may include a mold. The device may include the invaginator device for gripping and maneuvering esophageal tissue to aid restoration of the gastroesophageal flap, and may include the tissue fixation device.

摘要： A mitral valve staple device treats mitral regurgitation of a heart. The device includes first and second leg portions, each leg portion terminating in a tissue piercing end, and a connection portion extending between the first and second leg portions. The connection portion has an initial stressed and distorted configuration to separate the first and second leg portion by a first distance when the tissue piercing ends pierce the mitral valve annulus and a final unstressed and undistorted configuration after the tissue piercing ends pierce the mitral valve annulus to separate the first and second leg portions by a second distance which is shorter than the first distance. The device is deployed within the heart transvenously through a catheter positioned in the coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus. A tool forces the mitral valve staple device through the wall of the catheter for deployment in the heart.

摘要： A system for heating a cigarette to evolve an aerosol upon consumer request comprises a cigarette and a lighter. The lighter includes a housing into which the cigarette is inserted, and a stationary heater inside the housing is positioned in thermal proximity to the cigarette. The cigarette is rotatably mounted inside the housing. When a puff is desired, heat is applied to the cigarette to produce the aerosol. Prior to the next puff, the cigarette is slightly rotated to position a fresh portion of the cigarette in proximity to the stationary heater, and this procedure is repeated until the cigarette is spent.

摘要： A method and associated apparatus for automating the filtration and generation of information in a packetized communication system. A filtration table includes entries used in recognizing a valid packet received at a node in a communication system. A mask field in each entry is applied to appropriate fields in the packet (e.g. the ordered set as applied to Fibre Channel communication systems) to determine the validity of the packet with regard to the receiving node. Rules in a field of each entry further qualify the recognition of a received packet (e.g. ordered set) by testing the reception of the packet against other logical rules. Action fields in each record permit definition of actions to be invoked automatically (e.g. automatic adjustment of fill transmissions in Fibre Channel applications) in response to receipt and recognition of a particular packet. The set of packets recognized by the receiving node may be modified by adding, deleting, or modifying the entries in the filtration table. The programmable filtration thereby permits simple modifications to the protocol supported by the receiving node. Programmable generation capabilities of the present invention permit rapid integration of additional packets (e.g. ordered sets) transmitted in response to perceived packets in the receiving node. Programmable parameters in the receiving node permit automatic generation and transmission of packets in accordance with the parameter settings at the time of packet transmission.
