    • A divider for a local oscillator (LO) generator system of a phase locked loop (PLL) in a transceiver chip. The divider includes at least one divider unit. Each divider unit includes a frequency divider unit for receiving an input signal having an input frequency and for outputting an output signal having an output frequency which is approximately one half of the input frequency. Each divider unit also includes a resistor bank coupled between a voltage source and the frequency divider unit, and a current stirring unit for supplying current to the frequency divider unit. The resistance of the resistor bank and a magnitude of the current supplied by the current stirring unit are variable depending on the input frequency.

    • Dynamic low-power logic using recycled energy is disclosed. Logic circuits have a discharge path, a precharge path and a control circuit. The precharge path is a PMOS transistor coupled between the clock line and the output node of the circuit and configured to charge the output node to the loic high voltage of the clock line during a precharge phase. During an evaluation phase, the discharge path computes the desired logic function at the output node. A control circuit is connected between the output node and the clock line and to the gate of the precharge path transistor. The control circuit provides the proper gate drive, regardless of the voltage on the output node or the inputs to the discharge path, to guarantee that the precharge transistor fully charges the output node to the logic high voltage of the clock line, which provides recycled energy for operating the circuit.

    • A scalable distributed multimedia streaming system employs at least one media station having a media director and a plurality of media engines. Each media engine incorporates media content storage, communications channels for retrieving and streaming media content over a network. The media director has a controller adapted for directing retrieval over the network of media content by a selected media engine, tracking content stored on the media engines and redirecting a content request from a media console connected to the one media station over the network to a selected one of the media engines storing content corresponding to the request for streaming. Multiple media stations are employed to expand the network using a media location registry as a central repository for storing the location of all media content in the media stations. Intercommunication between the media stations for transfer of content is accomplished through the network.

    • This invention relates to an apparatus and a method for multistage hierarchical pyrolysis and gasification of solid fuels. The apparatus comprises a feeding device 1, a multistage fluidized bed reactor 6, a residual discharging valve 9, a cyclone 10 and a condenser 11. A gas inlet is provided at the bottom of the multistage fluidized bed reactor 6 and a number of stages of fluidized beds 3 are provided within the multistage fluidized bed 6, wherein the fluidized beds 3 are separated by a number of perforated distributors 5. The top stage fluidized bed 3 is connected with the feeding device 1 and the coal fed thereto is heated by char obtained from pyrolysis in this stage and the mixture of high temperature ascending pyrolysis and gasification gas to undergo pyrolysis reactions at low temperature, thereby to obtain solid particles after preliminary pyrolytic process. The solid particles flow downwards through an overflow standpipe 4/the perforated distributor 5 to the next stage of the fluidized bed and then are pyrolyzed through being heated by char and the mixture of pyrolysis and gasification gas. The solid particles in turn pass into the next stage of the fluidized bed and finally enter into the bottom stage fluidized bed to undergo gasification reactions. More light fractions in tar can be produced using the present apparatus and method.

    • An apparatus for recommending courses (200) comprises: a first receiver (210) adapted to receive a course request from a user client; a first collector (220) adapted to collect user context related to the user client; a first calculator (230) adapted to calculate relevance between the user context and each course stored in a storage device; and a first recommender (240) adapted to recommend courses on the basis of the calculated relevance to the user client. A direct and efficient method for recommending courses based on user context which has a strong impact on user experience is provided. According to the method, user information such as user profile, user behaviors, or past learning activities is not indispensable for the recommendation, and thus cold start problems happening when no user information is available can be solved. The user does not need to input query term(s) when requesting the recommendation, and the recommendation can be performed whenever and wherever the user requests courses.
