摘要： A recording medium and a recording apparatus for storing manufacturer information for supporting specific functions for each manufacturer and a method therefor. A reproducing apparatus for reproducing manufacturer information for supporting specific functions and a method therefor is also provided. If a recording apparatus modifies the contents of the recording medium, then it should record its manufacturer's identification code. A recording apparatus/reproducing apparatus should check the identification code on the recording medium before using its own manufacture information item for some specific function. Also, it is possible to reduce the time required to determine whether the manufacturer information items are effective.

The recording medium includes a first region having a plurality of still pictures, and a second region having first virtual deletion information for the still pictures, and still picture group information for separating the still pictures in the first region into a predetermined maximum number of groups in order to manage the still pictures at a group level, wherein the first virtual deletion information is within the still picture group information, and if the first virtual deletion information is set to a virtual delete state, the corresponding still picture is not to be reproduced. Accordingly, file extent information can be prevented from excessively increasing by maximally preventing a recording area from being scattered, when some of a data file are deleted by a user's request.

In particular, the present invention relates to an instantaneous electronic ballast for a metal halide lamp, which allows instantaneous lightening of the lamp and can extend the life of the lamp. For this, the instantaneous electronic ballast includes a state transition circuit having a first capacitor, a first resistor and a first inductor that are sequentially serially connected between the output terminals of a power converter, for switching the output voltage of a rectifier that converts an AC power into a DC power to generate a voltage having a given frequency within a high frequency region, thus driving the metal halide lamp, and the input terminals of the metal halide lamp, for supplying a state transition current necessary to shift the metal halide lamp from a glow discharge phase to an arc discharge phase.

AV data divided into clips, which are recording units, is recorded on the information storage medium. The apparatus for reproducing the multi-angle data includes a reading unit which reads data from the information storage medium, and a reproducing unit which reproduces the data read by the reading unit by searching for and reproducing clips corresponding to the read data when the read data is multi-angle data, and, if there is an angle change command, reproducing clips for a new angle from a jump point of the clip for the new angle.
