    • A liquid crystal display is provided, which includes: groups of gate lines transmitting a gate-on voltage; data lines alternately transmitting normal data voltages and an impulsive data voltage; pixels arranged in a matrix and including switching elements that are connected to the gate lines and the data lines and turn on in response to the gate-on voltage to transmit the data voltages; gate driving circuits connected to respective groups of gate lines and sequentially applying the gate-on voltage to the gate lines; a data driver applying the data voltages to the data lines; a duty ratio selector outputting a duty ratio selection signal informing a selected duty ratio; and a signal controller controlling the gate driver and the data driver based on the duty ratio selection signal, wherein the signal controller determines a time for the application of the impulsive data voltage based on the duty ratio selection signal.

    • The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display of a time divisional color display, which includes a plurality of pixels having liquid crystal capacitors, respectively, and light is not supplied to some pixels and light supplied to other pixels. Preferably, data voltages are applied to the pixels to which light is not supplied and data voltages are not applied to the pixel to which light is supplied. Accordingly, since a liquid crystal panel assembly is divided into several areas to be scanned sequentially and a light source of a light source unit corresponding to the area being scanned is maintained in light-off state, it is possible to secure enough data scan time as well as to increase light-on-time of the light sources. With this, time to charge electric charges of the liquid crystal capacitors is increased to improve image quality, and, according as light-on time of the light sources is increased, clearness of the image quality is also increased.

    • A touch sensitive display device has a driving apparatus. The driving apparatus includes at least one of a plurality of stages, and each stage includes an input section, a middle processing unit, an output voltage generator, and an output path selection unit. The input section outputs a first voltage in response to an output signal from a previous stage or a scanning start signal. The middle processing unit outputs a second voltage in response to one of the plurality of clock signals or an output signal from a next stage. The output voltage generator charges the first voltage and generates the output signal in response to the first voltage from the input section and the second voltage from the middle processing unit. The output path selecting unit selects an output path for the output signal from the output voltage generator. Accordingly, the structure of the display device can be simplified.

    • In an electrophoretic display, a display panel includes a first electrode receiving a data voltage, a second electrode receiving a common voltage while facing the first electrode and a plurality of pixels each of which includes charged particles arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode. The display panel receives the data voltage in response to a gate signal at a high state during a data output period to display an image, maintains a current image in response to the gate signal at a low state during a maintaining period, and receives a refresh voltage in response to the gate signal at the high state to reset the image. Thus, the electrophoretic display may prevent distortion of the image during the maintaining period.
