摘要： A method for the production of a homogenous gas mixture from two gas streams of different parameters in which an open or free equalizing space downstream of a superimposed catalyst layer is provided. Within such open space is a mixing assembly imposing a little deflection upon the reaction gas stream causing a low pressure drop in the stream with a consequent reduced loss of energy. Quench gas is admitted through a two stage pressure reduction. It is first expanded from a duct surrounding the mixing assembly through a plurality of openings where the gas velocities are reduced and equalized. The second pressure reduction takes place across openings in the mixing assembly. Quench gas and reaction gas are then thoroughly mixed in the mixing assembly and the gas mixture is consequently passed to the entrance of a second catalyst layer downstream.

摘要： A unitary flexible gas-tight seal is provided between the stationary cover of an electrolysis cell and each anode stem which is of current carrying material. The seal comprises a ring plug of flexible material which snugly fits the cover hole through which the respective anode stem projects. Integral with the ring plug is a neck terminating in a sleeve which gas-tightly embraces the anode stem. The neck may be bellows-like or smooth, such that axial movement of the sleeve relative to the ring plug can be achieved. If desired, the ring plug may be equipped with an expansion ring for reducing the flexibility of the plug.

Preferably organic solvents are used that are well miscible with phosphoric acid and water and in which ammonium phosphates are insoluble.

摘要： A vibratory conveyor for mixing granular or pulverized material is vibrated along a straight inclined path perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the conveyor trough. Material in the trough, because of the inclined transverse vibration, tends to move or roll in a closed path with the material in contact with the trough moving toward and up the side of the trough and the material on top sliding down toward the low side of the mass of material, thus being gently but thoroughly mixed. The mass of material, because of a slight lengthwise decline of the trough, slowly moves toward the lower end, i.e. discharge end, of the trough as it is mixed. Preferably, the trough is vibrated by a pair of contra-rotating, inertially synchronized eccentric weights.

摘要： Method and apparatus for the recovery of reaction heat in a catalytic high-pressure synthesis process- particularly ammonia and methanol synthesis- the total flow or reactant gas being heat-exchanged against the reaction gas from the bottom catalyst layer. This flow of preheated reactant gas is subsequently divided into two streams for further heating and for reducing the temperature of the reaction gas from the top and central catalyst layers. These streams pass through the heat exchanger arranged downstream of the top and central catalyst layer, respectively. The apparatus comprises a reactor which contains three catalyst layers arranged one above the other and two gas to gas heat exchangers arranged in the center of the central catalyst layer. These heat exchangers are connected between the catalyst layers with respect to the tube-side flow of the reaction gas. The entire flow of reaction gas passes alternately through successive catalyst layers and heat exchangers. The shell-side passes of the gas to gas heat exchangers are connected in parallel so that the entire flow of reactant gas to be heated further is distributed to these passes. The two gas streams are recombined after leaving the heat exchangers.
