    • An electric vehicle comprises a driving power device which drives a wheel and includes a heat generating component which includes a heat generating component and generates heat during an operation thereof; a mechanical pump which is mechanically driven by the driving motor and supplies a coolant in an amount proportional to a rotational speed of the driving motor to the heat generating component; an electric pump which supplies the coolant to the heat generating component; and an electric pump control section which controls an operation of the electric pump; wherein the electric pump control section causes the electric pump to be driven upon determining that a required cooling capability value is larger than a mechanical cooling capability value of the mechanical pump, and stops causing the electric pump to be driven when the required cooling capability value is smaller than the mechanical cooling capability value.

    • An electric rotating machine comprises a rotor body of cylindrical structure and a stator body covering an outer peripheral portion of the rotor body in a non-contact fashion. The stator body includes a stator winding formed with an insulation layer and arranged radially outward of the rotor body with a clearance from the rotor body and a stator core which supports the stator winding. The electrostatic capacity of the stator winding is measured by an electrostatic capacity measuring instrument which comprises a housing having a size allowing the housing to be accommodated in the clearance between the rotor body and the stator winding, a support body detachably secured to the rotor body and adapted to support the housing within the clearance to be movable, and a measuring element mounted to the housing on the side of the housing facing the stator winding and adapted to measure electrostatic capacity of the stator winding, wherein a degree of water penetration into the insulation of the stator winding is determined based on a measurement data from the measuring element.

    • An apparatus for monitoring hydrogen leakage from a generator frame into the stator coil water cooling system. The monitor is designed to alert the operator should leakage exceed a rate of twenty cubic feet per day (20 cfd). A pressure relief valve set at four (4) psig and orifice are provided, along with a second relief valve having a higher setpoint than the first, such that pressure will increase in the holding tank if leakage exceeds 20 cfd setpoint of the orifice. A high pressure alarm, set at a level higher than the first relief valve but less than that of the second, will then sound to alert the operator to protect the system from an overly large or gross failure of the system. By continusouly monitoring a relatively small steady state leakage rate, the operator can be aware of a minor problem which can be corrected at a scheduled maintenance outage, before a gross failure of the system, requiring a costly shutdown of the turbine-generator, would otherwise occur.
