摘要： A wraparound carton with overlapping panels secured together by adjustable locking means to compensate for variations in the diameter of the articles to be wrapped. The locking arrangement comprises a locking tab struck from the outer lap panel and having a plurality of lateral projections along the side edges thereof so as to form wavy lines, and a locking aperture arranged in the underlying lap panel for receiving the locking tap therethrough and having side edges which converge toward the end edge of the associated lap panel. Also disclosed is a device for tightening the wrapper about the articles whereby the lap panels are pulled into overlapping relationship at a predetermined rate.

摘要： A method and a machine for producing a latticework structure composed of cells of essentially parallelepipedon shape from e.g. paper coated on one side with synthetic resin. The web is formed over a mandrel into a sleeve of square cross-sectional shape while being successively advanced, and the sleeve is cut into bits which are flattened and by a step-by-step feeding mechanism positioned adjacent one another with one bit overlapping the following one over halfway in the transverse direction. The bits are bonded together while so positioned whereby flat elements are formed. These flat elements are stacked on top of one another by a mechanism ensuring that the elements are displaced by one cell width in their longitudinal direction and the stack of elements is then cut into pieces having the desired height of the cells. When extended, these pieces form the desired cellular latticework structure.

摘要： Apparatus for positioning intersecting partitions in a container to form compartments to receive articles comprises a support plate and a plurality of straightening heads extending from the support plate in a given direction. Each of the heads is adapted to engage a respective intersection of two partitions in the container and defines an intersecting pair of open bottom slots for receipt therein of the respective partition intersection. Means are also provided for moving the support plate between a first position wherein the heads are spaced from the respective partition intersections and a second position wherein the heads engage the respective partition intersections to position the partitions. Because the straightening heads operate on the intersections of the partitions rather than in the center of the compartments, the apparatus is capable of straightening more deformed partitions, fewer straightening heads are required, and the same straightening head may be used to straighten compartments of different sizes.

摘要： The liners are formed from flat corrugated paper sheets that are stored on edge in a magazine. A vacuum picker transfers single sheets to a conveyor and they are creased on the upper surface by disc blades. The creased sheets are fed between narrow upper and lower conveyor belts and drawn through plow elements which fold the sheets to form liners. The formed liners are carried by gripping heads of an overhead chain conveyor to a constantly moving bucket conveyor. The axis of the chain conveyor is set at an acute angle to the axis of the bucket conveyor and the gripping heads are rotated by cam elements to align the liners with the conveyor buckets.
