    • An improved slot car game is provided having a roadway with at least one slotted track and at least one electrical contact strip positioned adjacent to said track. At least one slot car vehicle is adapted to travel about the track deriving electrical power from said at least one electrical contact strip. Means are provided to realign a misaligned vehicle, said means including a guide secured to the underside of each of the vehicles and a continuous chain positioned below each of the slotted tracks with engaging means at fixed positions thereon. The chain may be moved in a horizontal direction to permit the engaging means of the chain to engage the guide means of the vehicle and, upon further horizontal movement of the chain, to realign the vehicle relative to the track.

    • An action game apparatus for testing manual skill and dexterity comprises a housing having a thin transparent sheet forming a playing surface and a magnet is manually movable over one face of the playing surface to attract and move a magnetic playing piece on the opposite face of the playing surface towards a goal. The playing surface is provided with walls defining a tortuous path leading to the goal and as the playing piece is moved along the tortuous path, it is subjected to bombardment from projectiles which are randomly propelled in the general vicinity of the playing piece. If a projectile strikes the playing piece with enough force, the magnetic attraction between the manually movable magnet and the attracted playing piece is broken and the player must start again and reestablish magnetic contact before movement toward the goal can again proceed. The game requires skill and manual dexterity in moving the playing piece as fast as possible around the tortuous path to the goal while trying to avoid the projectiles randomly fired.

    • A gravity-type racing game is provided which includes start and finish positions connected by an inclined trackway. Playing objects, such as balls, are assignable to each of the players, and a plurality of such balls are released from the start position to traverse the inclined trackway toward the finish position. Rotatable and flipper-type deflectors are disposed on the inclined trackway for deflecting the balls as they approach the finish position. A plurality of playing stations are provided for the players, and each player's station includes a control button. The control buttons are all connected in parallel to the same deflectors and are operable by each player for actuating the same deflectors. In this manner, each player may actuate the same deflectors to deflect the ball of another player away from the finish position.

    • A toy usable as a game effectively simulating an adult game such as tennis, Ping Pong or the like can be constructed so as to utilize a housing having a rectangular opening which is preferably covered by a translucent screen. A light within the interior of the housing simulating the ball in such a game is visible through the screen. The light is mounted upon a member within the housing which is capable of being moved back and forth between different positions adjacent to the ends of the opening. A mechanical drive structure is provided for moving the member between such positions. At least one and preferably a plurality of parts capable of engaging the member so as to hold the member against movement is located in the housing. Such holding parts are movably mounted so as to be capable of being moved from engaging positions in which they are capable of engaging the holding member to non-engaging positions in which they will not engage the member. Release structures are preferably provided for moving adjacent holding parts from a first location in which these holding parts are individually capable of being moved between the noted positions to a second location in which none of the holding parts is operative to hold the member against movement.

As a result the vehicle is driven about the track in a forward direction regardless of the polarity of current applied to the collector strips.

    • A child's game which comprises a toy capable of spinning in a circular motion or path and then travelling in a straight or substantially straight line at the end of its travel path and an arena which is provided with a wall surrounding the arena perimeter, the wall having a single opening therein through which a toy can travel, the arena also having a central start area and other designated areas therewithin for use in playing the game. The designated areas can be sectors, one side of which is an arc formed by the wall and the perimeter of the arena. Each of the sectors has a predetermined designation in accordance with the rules of the game. The toy has a set of wheels which, upon being caused to rotate at high speed, causes a flywheel within the toy to rotate, raise one wheel from the arena surface, and permit the toy to travel in a circular path when placed in the center of the arena until the flywheel has reduced its speed to some predetermined point whereupon both of the wheels are on the ground and the toy will then travel in a straight path. The toy will either travel out of the arena through the opening in the perimeter wall or it will move forward and bump into the wall and land in one of the sectors.
