    • An MP3 transfer accessory for transferring music from a CD to an MP3 player: The MP3 transfer accessory includes a portable housing having a CD receiving station for receiving therein a CD to be uploaded to an MP3 player. The CD receiving station includes a CD reader for reading the music tracks on the CD placed in the CD receiving station. The transfer accessory further includes means for reading the data in the CD reader and for converting the CD format to MP3 readable format; such reading means include music transfer software and hardware. The housing further includes an integral MP3 docking station for receiving an MP3 player therein for receiving music from the CD placed in the CD receiving station. The MP3 docking station includes a docking connector for electrically connecting the MP3 player to the transfer accessory. The housing further includes an LCD screen for displaying data as to the CD music track being copied and as to the CD music tracks to be copied. The MP3 transfer accessory includes a power supply for providing power to the transfer accessory, and also includes a battery charger device, a battery pack or an electrical 110V plug for connecting to an electrical 110V outlet. Also provided is a power button for activating and deactivating the power supply.

    • A method for copying data onto a plurality of hard drive partitions first determines the total size of the source files, which may be on an optical disc or other device. The available space on one or more hard drive partitions is determined and totaled. If the total available storage space is greater than the total size of the source files, a first portion of the source files are stored on a first partition as one or more image files. The remaining portions of the source files are stored on one or more additional storage partitions as image files. After the files are copied to the storage partitions, a data file is established containing location information of each image file stored on the hard drive partitions. The stored image files on the hard drive partitions may then be sequentially or randomly written onto a target device, such as an optical disc.

    • A client transmits the title and artist of a particular music piece to a Web server via the Internet. The Web server accesses a music piece playing time information database and searches the playing time corresponding to that music piece. The playing time searched and obtained is transmitted to the client via the Internet. Also, a menu page for a label printing service is sent to the client from the Web server via the Internet. Printing conditions for the label are input at the client using the GUI of the menu page transmitted from the Web server. The input conditions are transmitted to the Web server via the Internet. The Web server prints labels under the input printing conditions. Thus, music data can be efficiently recording on media, and further, accurate and neatly-printed labels can be easily provided to general users.
