摘要： A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (“HVAC”) system and a method for controlling the HVAC system. The HVAC system includes a compressor and a variable speed discharge fan. The method includes determining, with a controller, a low fan capacity setting based on an operation of the compressor. The method also includes maintaining a discharge fan capacity at the low fan capacity setting, and varying a coil discharge air temperature between a low discharge air temperature limit and a high discharge air temperature limit. The method further includes when the coil discharge air temperature reaches the low discharge air temperature limit, varying the discharge fan capacity between the low fan capacity setting and a high fan capacity setting so as to maintain a space temperature at a space temperature setpoint, while maintaining the coil discharge air temperature at the low discharge air temperature limit.

摘要： A hybrid system and method for conditioning air for an enclosed space can include a direct cooling system in combination with an indirect cooling system. The hybrid system can use direct cooling when ambient temperature and humidity levels are such that 100% outdoor air can be delivered to the enclosed space. The hybrid system can use indirect cooling when 100% of the return air can be conditioned using an external cooling unit and then returned to the enclosed space as supply air. The external cooling unit can include an evaporative cooler and operate in a dry mode and a wet mode. The external cooling unit can produce a reduced temperature cooling fluid and provide liquid cooling to the air when the system is operating in the indirect mode, and in some cases, in the direct mode. The hybrid system can operate in a mixed mode in which the external cooling unit is off and a mix of return air and outdoor air can be delivered to the enclosed space.

The system optimization device receives the indoor environment parameter, the outdoor environment parameter, and the air conditioning load parameter and calculates to obtain a control parameter. The central control device controls the supply temperature of the water chiller according to the control parameter.

The HVAC system also includes a variable-speed circulation fan and a condenser coil fluidly coupled to the metering device. The HVAC system also includes a variable-speed compressor fluidly coupled to the condenser coil and the evaporator coil and a controller operatively coupled to the variable-speed compressor and the variable-speed circulation fan. The controller is configured to measure a speed of the variable-speed compressor, calculate a normal cooling Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM), measure a speed of the variable-speed circulation fan, and determine if the speed of the variable-speed circulation fan exceeds the normal cooling CFM. If the speed of the variable-speed circulation fan exceeds the normal cooling CFM, the HVAC controller adjusts a speed of at least one of the variable-speed compressor and the variable-speed circulation fan.

摘要： A fault detection system for detecting a flow restriction in an air handler is provided. The system includes a coil, air and liquid temperature sensors, a smart valve and a notification device. The coil is located in an air stream of the air handler. The air temperature sensors are located in the air stream, one sensor determining an air temperature of air upstream of the coil and another determines an air temperature downstream of the coil. The liquid temperature sensors determine a liquid temperature entering the coil and exiting the coil. The smart valve includes a controller in communication with the liquid temperature sensors and at least one of the air temperature sensors that uses the measured air temperature downstream of the coil and a valve actuator position to determine whether the coil is operating at a reduced capacity. The notification device communicates with the controller of the smart valve.
