    • A device for setting the torque transferred from a primary shaft to a secondary shaft by a friction clutch comprises a supporting element and an axially displaceable adjusting element which is rotatable with respect to the supporting element and which is operatively connected to the friction clutch for the actuation of the latter, the adjusting element comprising a toothed ring, and the supporting element and adjusting element cooperating via coupling elements in such a way that a rotation of the adjusting element in relation to the supporting element brings about an axial displacement of the adjusting element in relation to the supporting element. The device comprises a linearly displaceable rack element which is in engagement with the toothed ring of the adjusting element, and an electrically activatable linear drive arrangement for the controlled displacement of the rack element.

    • An installation structure of an electromagnetic multiple-disk clutch device having an electromagnet and a multiple-disk clutch pack having drive and driven plates and arranged radially outside of the electromagnet, includes a stationary housing portion accommodating therein the electromagnetic multiple-disk clutch device. An engaging member is attached to an electromagnet-coil casing of the electromagnet, and extends radially outwards from the electromagnet-coil casing. A radial length of the engaging member is dimensioned so that the outermost end of the engaging member is laid outside of the outermost portion of the multiple-disk clutch pack. Also provided is an engaging-member retainer formed in the stationary housing portion and brought into engagement with the engaging member when assembling the electromagnetic multiple-disk clutch device, for preventing rotary motion of the electromagnet and for positioning the electromagnet with respect to the stationary housing portion.

    • A driving force transmitting apparatus includes a clutch mechanism for bringing a pilot clutch to a frictionally engaged condition, and a cam mechanism for bringing a main clutch for transmitting driving force to a frictionally engaged condition during operation of the clutch mechanism. The cam mechanism includes a pilot cam member, a main cam member, a stopper member, and a biasing means for biasing the stopper member in a rotational direction for respectively engaging the pilot cam member and the main cam member to the stopper member. A position of the pilot cam member, the main cam member, and the stopper member is determined depending on a relationship between a biasing force to the stopper member by the biasing means and a torque to the pilot cam member.

    • The differential includes a differential casing configured to be rotatably driven by a motor under a driving force. The differential includes a differential mechanism which includes a pair of first and second side-gears for distributing a torque of the differential casing to first and second output shafts. The differential includes a frictional clutch for interconnecting the first and second output shafts. The frictional clutch includes first and second power-transmitting members connected to first and second output shafts respectively and first and second clutch plates. The first and second clutch plates are connected to the first and second power-transmitting members respectively. The differential includes an actuator for operating the frictional clutch. One output shaft of the first and second output shafts is axially displacable by the actuator under an engagement force to engage the frictional clutch.
