摘要： A suspending agent for film-forming suspension comprises a solution in an organic solvent of a salt of a polyester and a polyamine (other than an aliphatic diamine) or a polyamidoamine. The polyester is the reaction product of (a) a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. glycerine, 1:2:6-hexanetriol, trimethylol propane, pentaerythritol, sorbitol, triethanolamine, a mixture of butine-2-:4diol and hexanetriol or a mixture of glycerine and triethanolamine), (b) a polycarboxylic acid (e.g. phthalic or maleic acid) and (c) a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid containing 10-20 carbon atoms or an ester thereof (e.g. castor oil or its fatty acids, soya fatty acids, tall oil fatty acids, coconut fatty acids or ricinoleic acid). The amino compound may be tetraethylene pentamine, a long chain aliphatic polyamine, a cycloaliphatic polyamine or a reaction product of dipropylene triamine with one or more of adipic acid, phthalic anhydride, castor oil fatty acids, soya fatty acids or tall oil fatty acids. The organic solvent may be a mixture of xylene with butanol, isopropanol or diacetone alcohol. The suspending agent may be added to alkyd resin lacquers which may also contain a pigment or filler (e.g. one or more of chrome yellow, heavy spar, zinc white or titanium dioxide), a cyclohexanone resin, a skin-protecting agent, a flowing agent (e.g. benzoic or crotonic acid), a drier (e.g. cobalt, lead and manganese naphthenates) and a diluent (e.g. one or more of xylene, white spirit and butanol). Specification 887,241 is referred to.ALSO:A suspending agent for film forming suspensions comprises, dissolved in an organic solvent, an amine salt of a carboxylic acid polyester of a polyalcohol, the amine being a polyamine (excluding aliphatic diamines) or a polyamido amine. Specified polyalcohols are glycerine, hexanetriol, trimethylolpropane, pentaerythritol, sorbitol and triethanolamine. The polyalcohol is first esterified with a fatty acid then with a di- or polycarboxylic acid, e.g. maleic or phthalic acid, whereby one of the carboxylic groups of the latter acid is left free for salt formation. In examples the amine compound is (1) the polyaminoamide from di propylene triamine and either tall oil fatty acid or adipic acid, or phthalic anhydride, or a mixture of phthalic acid and tall oil fatty acid or (2) tetraethylene pentaneine. Specification 887,241 is referred to.
