摘要： An engine includes a cylinder block including a plurality of cylinders, an exhaust manifold, and an exhaust pipe. The exhaust manifold includes a first passage and a second passage. The first passage includes a plurality of first inflow ports into which exhaust gases flow from the plurality of cylinders, a first collecting portion that collects exhaust gases that have flowed into the plurality of first inflow ports, and a first exhaust port through which exhaust gases collected by the first collecting portion are discharged. The second passage includes a second inflow port into which exhaust gases flow and a second exhaust port through which exhaust gases that have flowed into the second inflow port are discharged. The exhaust pipe includes a connection passage through which the first exhaust port and the second inflow port are connected together.

The housing includes a partitioning wall that is arranged to partition an interior of the housing into a first exhaust space connected to exhaust ports of the engine, and a second exhaust space connected to the first exhaust space. The housing is arranged such that the second exhaust space is positioned at the same side as the first exhaust space with respect to a plane that includes central axes of the plurality of the cylinders. The catalyst is positioned at a height such that at least a portion of the catalyst overlaps with the first exhaust space when viewed from a horizontal direction. The catalyst is disposed in the second exhaust space so as to guide the exhaust guided from the first exhaust space to the second exhaust space.

摘要： An engine control system, for controlling an engine of a jet-propulsion boat, includes a cavitation-control-mode determination unit, which starts a cavitation-control mode when an engine speed not faster than 3200 rpm is maintained for a predetermined time period. During a normal sailing operation, ignition timing is set by a first ignition-timing setting unit. Upon detection of a cavitation-control-mode by the cavitation-control-mode determination unit, an engine speed is raised up to a speed not slower than 3200 rpm, which makes an ignition-timing switching unit to select a second ignition-timing setting unit. The second ignition-timing setting unit retards the ignition timing for the normal sailing operation when the engine speed becomes 6500 rpm or faster. In addition to retardation of the ignition timing, a boost pressure control command upper-limit value is switched to a value at a startup operation, which is less than a value at the normal sailing operation.

摘要： An improved Exhaust Intake Bonnet (EIB) for an Advanced Maritime Emissions Control System (AMECS) includes a shroud carried by a rigid upper frame and a lowerable and raisable rigid lower frame. The upper frame includes a peak with a duct for receiving exhaust gasses captured by the shroud and winches for lowering and raising the lower frame. The shroud is expandable when the lower frame is lowered and collapsible when the lower frame is raised and has a cinchable base. The AMECS is joined to a ship by positioning the EIB over a ship's exhaust stack using a deployment arm. The shroud is then lowered over the stack and then cinched around the stack to provide a soft attachment between the EIB and the ship's stack. Later, the steps are reversed to separate the AMECS from the ship.

The engine has an exhaust port leading from a combustion chamber for routing exhaust products therefrom and an exhaust timing valve cooperable with the exhaust port and movable between a first position for delaying the closing of said exhaust port and a second position for advancing the closing of said exhaust port. A valve control mechanism is provided for moving the valve. The engine control is arranged to control the position of the exhaust timing valve with the valve control mechanism. The watercraft has a hull defining an engine compartment in which the engine is positioned. At least one air duct provides air through the hull into the engine compartment, the duct leading from the hull to an outlet in the engine compartment. The engine has an intake system for providing air to the combustion chamber and a fuel system for providing fuel to the combustion chamber, the fuel system including at least one fuel injector. The arrangement of the air temperature sensor(s) reduces or limits each sensor's exposure to water.
