    • A, completely non-fogging mirror device, for use in high heat/humidity environments, such as a shower. This device has a relatively permanent storage/heating housing and a portable mirror unit that fits within a cavity in the housing unit, this portable mirror unit having a reflective surface. The reflective surface is heated by transferring heat from a heating element within a storage housing, the heater element being energized from a power supply. Actual heating of the reflective surface is from a reservoir of liquid permanently stored within the mirror unit such that the reflective surface retains an elevated temperature to prevent fogging while the liquid remains hot. A thermostat is provided to regulate the temperature of the heater element, and thus the liquid. Also, there is provided a timer unit with an optional sound-producing unit to govern the heating time. An accessory unit is described that permits hanging the mirror unit, after heating, in any location in the environment where is will be useful.

    • To prevent condensation on the mirror, it is heated with water from a supply tube connected from a showerhead pipe to a dispenser which disperses the heated water in either liquid or spray form, preferably from holes in a hose which is mounted in a rear temperature-control space and which surrounds the back of the mirror. The hose has an oval cross-section with holes on one of its flatter sides so that they will all face inward, toward the center of the mirror. Also the tube acts as a gasket to prevent the water from leaking through the mirror's front. The mirror is held by a flex-arm which includes breakaway flex-joints (hinge or ball), allowing rotational and translational movements. A supply tube is carred inside the flexarm, has a friction fit in the ends of the arm, and is connected to the dispenser hose by a T-fitting. A relief slot in the mirror end of the flex-arm allows water which enters the space in the flex-arm around the supply tube to leave such space. The mirror is mounted in a frame with a back plate which is slightly larger than the frame so that the back plate spreads the back of the frame, causing its front part to be compressed, thereby to squeeze the mirror into a concave, magnifying shape.

    • A conventional mirror will quickly fog when exposed to the extremely humid environment of the shower. This is because the moisture contained in the warm ambient air condenses on the relatively cooler mirror surface. An effective way to remedy this problem is to heat the mirror surface to a sufficient temperature to combat condensation of the moisture in the ambient air. This invention provides an effective method and apparatus to combat fog formation. This invention utilizes relatively simple construction to provide a low cost, safe, highly portable, efficient and effective method and apparatus to provide a non fogging shower mirror. To achieve this, the inventive device (10) incorporates a mirror, attached to a reservoir (14). This reservoir (14) holds a thermal mass of warm water. The thermal energy of this warm water is conducted through the mirror (12) substrate to the mirror surface, thus raising the temperature of the mirror (12) surface sufficiently to effectively combat moisture condensation and thus combat fog formation. The reservoir (14) includes a filling orifice (18), suspension hook hole (16) and water exit port (20). The user fills the inventive device (10) with water through the filling orifice (18) and hangs the inventive device (10) by a hook secured to the shower wall and inserted in suspension hook hole (16). The water in the reservoir (14) slowly escapes through the action of gravity through water exit port (20), thus leaving an empty reservoir.

    • A non-foggable mirror assembly for use in a shower comprises a mirror mounted on a unitary frame. The frame is recessed to provide a space between the back surface of the mirror and the frame. This space serves as a chamber for hot water, which is fed through a port at the bottom of the chamber, and which exits through a continuously open port at the top of the chamber. The bottom port is connected to an adapter for connection to a water pipe leading to a shower head for tapping off heated water. The heated water passes upwardly through the chamber continuously, heating the mirror, and preventing condensation.

The cover is swivelably mounted to the visor body frame to swivel between its open and closed conditions. A separately swivelable control knob selectively locks closed and permits opening of the cover. The control knob has a recess for capturing the free edge of the cover and swiveling of the control knob with the edge of the cover in the recess locks the cover closed. A detent locks the knob in the open condition. The cover is an integral unit including a pin that is received in a hole in the frame for supporting the cover, the swiveling cover itself and a hinge between the attached and swiveling portions of the cover.
