    • A control system and method for chemical injectors includes a controller which outputs multiple feed set point signals and associated driver signals, each set point signal defining a desired injection capacity for a chemical injector and the associated driver designation signal designating the injector to receive the set point signal. A driver assembly is associated with each injector. The driver assembly receives a capacity signal from the injector which defines the volumetric injection capacity of the injector, compares the capacity signal to the feed set point signal, and outputs a drive signal to adjust the volumetric injection capacity of the injector. An adjustment assembly is provided for receiving the drive signal and positioning a stop to limit the reciprocal motion of the piston of the injector, thereby adjusting the volumetric injection capacity of the injector. The injectors inject into a common carrier fluid, such as irrigation water, and the carrier fluid, through a carrier fluid flow operated valve, is also used to reciprocate the injector pistons. A disabling assembly is provided to disable the driver assemblies when the pistons of the injectors are forced against the stops.

    • This invention relates to a device used in the selection between two fluids that are to be injected into a liquid metal contained in a metallurgical converter: an oxidizing gas and another gas conveying powdered carbonaceous material; both fluids arrive through different conduits to a selecting valve located at the bottom of a metallurgical converter just before a single conduit tuyere for leading one of the fluids to the liquid metal by means of the selective mechanism in such valve. The valve design and operation avoids the possibility of mixing the oxidizing gas with the carbonaceous powder in any part of their path up to the metal bath by providing separate passages for each fluid and one inert gas purge passageway between said passages, and further including a safety mechanism which provides control means for the fluid to be correctly injected by avoiding the transport of the oxidizing gas or the carbonaceous material if the corresponding movable passage within the valve body is not correctly and precisely positioned.

The combination lock is further adapted to receive a nozzle assembly, which is operative to dispense fluids.     • A mixing valve utilizes a sleeve having hot and cold water inlet ports and outlet ports therein. A valve member is reciprocal and rotatable within the sleeve to control the temperature and volume of water passing through the outlet ports. There are port seals positioned in the sleeve hot and cold water inlet ports, which port seals are in sealing contact with the valve member and have openings therein through which pass the inlet water flow of the valve. The cold water port seal opening has a cross sectional area less than that of the hot water port seal opening and there is a restricted passage in the cold water port seal controlling the access of water to the cold water port seal opening.

    • Apparatus for sampling water or steam condensate in a steam turbine system includes a plurality of lines connected to receive fluid samples from various points in the system for delivering a selected sample to an analyzer through a valving arrangement. The valving arrangement and analyzer are under control of a microprocessor which has a set of stored instructions governing the random selection of which lines are to be selected for sampling. The selection may be interrupted as a result of the analysis whereas the result of abnormal fluid conditions in a particular line is determined by sensors provided in each line. The valves are of the type which provide for continuous fluid flow therethrough so that a fluid sample if selected will be provided to the analyzer and all those not selected will be returned back to the steam turbine system for reuse.
