    • A method for managing an application delivery controller (ADC) cluster operable in a software defined networking (SDN)-based network and including a plurality of ADC virtual appliances (VAs). The method comprises creating, by a central controller, a hash table including a plurality of buckets allocated to active VAs out of the plurality of VAs, each bucket is assigned to a range of a source internet protocol (IP) addresses of a client; and programming by the central controller at least one ingress network element connected to the ADC cluster and receive incoming traffic from clients to perform a balanced incoming traffic distribution among the plurality of VAs, wherein the traffic distribution is based in part on the allocation of the buckets to the plurality of VAs and the SIP addresses of the clients originating the incoming traffic. The plurality of VAs are virtual ADC instances operable i the plurality of physical devices.

    • Some embodiments provide a proprietary 64-bit consistent distribution scheme that preserves the efficiencies of CARP while providing a significantly more balanced distribution of requests that is on par with schemes reliant on computationally expensive cryptographic hashes. The scheme performs hashing of requested URLs and identifiers of available servers over a 64-bit space while optimizing the hashing to remove computationally expensive operations. Some embodiments provide a variant of the scheme to provide a differentiated distribution on the basis of one or more differentiating factors. A first variant utilizes load factor values to adjust the resulting hashes and to produce a first distribution of differentiated content that varies from a second distribution of undifferentiated content. A second variant identifies requests for differentiated content from requests for undifferentiated content and utilizes a first scheme to distribute the differentiated content and a second altered scheme to distribute the undifferentiated content.

    • Systems and methods utilize a distributed server network to allow for the optimization of the upload of a data stream from a computing device. Performance metrics are estimated for different network paths from the computing device to a variety of entry servers in the distributed server network. Based on the estimated performance metrics, one or more entry servers are then selected to receive the data stream from the computing device. As a result, the systems and methods described herein allow for high quality upload performance which addresses the first mile vulnerability issues of the data stream. The distributed server network can then transmit copies of the data stream in real-time to other computing devices.

    • A method, system and computer program product for managing pattern contents across multiple racks. The workload usage characteristics of the pattern contents on a primary rack in a domain of racks are collected based on monitoring the workload usage of the pattern contents in the pattern definition and in the deployed pattern. Furthermore, information regarding use of the pattern definition, the deployed pattern and the pattern contents by users (“human interaction usage patterns”) is collected based on monitoring the human interaction usage patterns. The pattern contents are then ranked based on analyzing the collected workload usage characteristics and analyzing the collected information regarding human interaction usage patterns. Once the pattern contents are ranked, those contents that are highly ranked are deemed to be more likely to be utilized in the pattern and therefore are the contents that are copied from the primary rack to the other racks of the domain.

    • A cloud-based email system is accessed by way of a cloud access security system. The cloud access security system allows for encryption of incoming emails and outgoing emails stored in the cloud-based email system. The cloud access security system includes a protocol proxy for providing an interface between a client computer of a user and the cloud-based email system, an encryption module for indexing and encrypting emails, and an event listener for receiving email event notifications from the cloud-based email system and replacing emails with corresponding encrypted emails. The cloud access security system may receive encryption keys from a key manager hosted by a key server, which may be part of the cloud access security system or hosted on premise in the same private computer network as client computers employed by users.
