    • A voltage generator may include a plurality of charge pumps, plural sets of delay pipelines and a phase controller. Given M delay pipelines having N stages each, there may be M*N charge pumps each having a triggering input coupled to a respective stage or a respective pipeline. The phase controller may include a plurality of phase control stages interconnecting among the delay pipelines to induce timing offsets among the outputs of the delay stage. In an alternate design, intermediate nodes among the pipeline's delay stages may be coupled to triggering inputs of a sub-set of the charge pumps. The phase controller may have a plurality of phase control stages coupled, respectively, between the intermediate nodes of the delay pipeline and intermediate nodes of the phase control stages may be coupled to triggering inputs of another sub-set of the charge pumps.

    • The present invention is a low-ripple power supply comprising a clock generator, a plurality of charge pump modules, and an adder unit. The low-ripple power supply inputs each of a plurality of clock signals generated by the clock generator into each of the plurality of charge pump modules. Since each of the plurality of charge pump modules sends the inputted corresponding clock signal into two paths to be inputted into the first and the second charge pump, respectively, and the corresponding clock signal inputted into the second charge pump undergoes an inversion by the inverter, by adding the first voltage outputted by the first charge pump and the second voltage outputted by the second charge pump, the ripples may be eliminated; finally, the adder unit adds the voltages outputted by each of the plurality of charge pump modules to yield a low-ripple DC voltage.

    • A step-up converter includes an input coupled to receive a first voltage potential and an output coupled to output a second voltage potential higher than the first voltage potential. The step-up converter also includes an array of capacitance charge pumps. Each of the capacitance charge pumps in the array includes switches to be modulated to individually run each of the capacitance charge pumps by selectively connecting each of the capacitance charge pumps to the input and the output. The step-up converter further includes a control module coupled to the switches of each of the capacitance charge pumps and configured to modulate the switches at a substantially fixed frequency. The control module modulates the switches of selected capacitance charge pumps in the array in response to a current draw on the output. The step-up converter may be included in an image sensor.

    • A system, method, and computer program product for generating a regulated boosted load voltage. A comparator may use reduced versions of a reference voltage, a supply voltage, and a fed-back output load voltage to determine whether the output load voltage requires adjustment. If so, a controller may responsively vary the number of voltage boosting charge pumps connected in parallel to the load to best match a target voltage. The target voltage may be the reference voltage plus the supply voltage. A counter may track the number of active charge pumps, and may increment or decrement the number more slowly than the charge pumps operate. Loop gain may be limited by an integrating filter to prevent oscillation. The embodiments are of particular utility for signal conversion circuitry as they eliminate difficulties arising from gate-source voltage inadequacies and differences in switch transistors. A wider range of reference voltages may be accommodated.
