    • A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate that partially define a plurality of discharge cells in a space therebetween, and an electrode structure including an address electrode extending along a first direction, a dielectric layer formed on the address electrode, a first electrode extending along a second direction intersecting the first direction, and a second electrode extending along the second direction intersecting the first direction, where the first electrode and the second electrode are electrically insulated from the address electrode, and at least a portion of each of the first electrode and the second electrode is associated with each of the discharge cells. At least one of the address electrode and the dielectric layer associated with each of the discharge cells may include a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may have a first thickness along a third direction and the second portion may have a second thickness along the third direction, where the third direction intersects the first direction and the second direction. The first thickness may be different from the second thickness.

    • A plasma display panel is provided which is free from blisters and pinholes on its dielectric layers and has excellent characteristics of breakdown voltage. The plasma display panel has a multilayered first dielectric layer covering a display electrode including a scanning electrode and a sustain electrode that are provided on a front substrate, and a multilayered second dielectric layer covering a data electrode that is provided on a back substrate. The periphery of an upper dielectric layer of the first dielectric layer and/or the second dielectric layer is positioned identically or partially in size and shape to a periphery of a lower dielectric layer to be formed.

    • A plasma display panel including a rear substrate, address electrodes arranged on the rear substrate and covered by a lower dielectric layer, and partition walls arranged on the lower dielectric layer to define discharge cells. A front substrate is arranged in parallel with the rear substrate, pairs of sustaining electrodes are arranged on the front substrate, an upper dielectric layer covers the sustaining electrodes, and a protective layer covers the upper dielectric layer. The upper dielectric layer comprises a gap between the pairs of sustaining electrodes within the discharge cells, and a fluorescent layer is arranged in the gap.

    • A partition wall defines individual discharge cells. A second lateral wall partitions each of the discharge cells into a display discharge cell opposing two transparent electrodes of the paired row electrodes and allowing for a sustain discharge, and an addressing discharge cell opposing a bus electrode of one of the paired row electrodes and allowing for an addressing discharge produced between the bus electrode and a column electrode. A clearance is provided between the display discharge cell and the addressing discharge cell to establish communication from the addressing discharge cell to the display discharge cell. A high γ material layer is provided on an area facing the addressing discharge cell.
