    • A method of performing a surveillance of a plurality of surveillance zones operable using a computerised system communicably interfaced with a plurality of input devices, each of the plurality of surveillance zones being monitored by at least one of the plurality of input devices, the method including the steps of: (i) the computerised system receiving input data captured by each of the plurality of input devices, the received input data representing characteristics of the surveillance zones under surveillance by the respective input devices; (ii) the computerised system comparing at least one characteristic of each surveillance zone against at least one surveillance ranking parameter; (iii) the computerised system assigning priority rating values to the results of each comparison between the at least one characteristic and the at least one surveillance ranking parameter.

    • A processing unit receives information of the intruder from a detection unit and compares the received information with the camera database stored in a storage unit, to determine a next monitored area that the intruder will enter. If the intruder remains in the current monitored area, the processing unit controls the camera of the current monitored area to capture the images of the intruder and sends the images to the detection unit. If the intruder enters an intersection area of the current monitored area and the next monitored area, the processing unit obtains the camera of the current monitored area and a camera corresponding to the next monitored area from the camera database and controls the cameras of the current monitored area and the next monitored area to capture the images of the corresponding monitored areas and sends the images to the detection unit.

    • An intruder detection system includes a leaky transmission path of a transmission side and a leaky transmission path of a receiving side, both of which has a plurality of leaky points existing in a direction to which the respective leaky transmission path extends, and the intruder detection system further includes an intrusion location detection unit which detects an intrusion location of an intruder on the basis of each signal, which is received in a receiving circuit of the receiving side, affected by the leaky electric wave at each of the leaky points. The intruder detection system further includes a detection table which associates a detectable intrusion location with a detection area, and if intrusion location detection information of the intrusion location detection unit corresponds to a detection area of the detection table, a detection result is output.

    • The invention relates to a method for monitoring an environment through a plurality of sensors, wherein a control system receives information from one or more sensors of said plurality and uses said information in order to monitor said environment. The method comprises a setup stage wherein an operator creates a model of an environment by defining a plurality of cells corresponding to areas of said environment, and then creates cell/sensor relationships by defining for each sensor at least one possible position which is associated with at least one cell. For each position the sensor is assigned by the operator a monitoring judgment for the associated cell. The method also comprises an operational stage wherein the control system, in order to perform a surveillance function, finds those sensors which can be used for carrying out the requested surveillance function and controls them based on the monitoring judgments and the cell/sensor relationships.
