    • A cargo container comprising a container body defining an interior cargo space, a flexible and expandable liner secured inside the container body, a bulkhead positioned in the container body and held against the liner, and bracing apparatus to brace the bulkhead in the cargo container. A first embodiment of the bracing apparatus includes a plurality of vertical beams connected to a floor of the container body, horizontally spaced apart and vertically extending upward against the bulkhead; and a multitude of cross beams connected to the vertical beam to held hold those beams upright. A second embodiment of the bracing apparatus includes a plurality of upwardly extending straps and a plurality of laterally extending straps. These upwardly extending straps are connected to and extend between a floor and a ceiling of the container body, and are positioned against the bulkhead; and the laterally extending straps of this bracing apparatus are connected to and extend between left and right sidewalls of the container body, and are also positioned against the bulkhead.

    • A flexible insert for a container is provided with obliquely extending interior reinforcing straps that connect a door wall portion of the insert to one or more walls of the container to make the door wall portion more resistant to outward bulging when the insert is filled with fluid or particulate cargo. The door wall portion is reinforced by intersecting reinforcing straps to delineate said door wall portion into tiers of sub-portions. Straps extend outward from the insert to suspend a peripheral portion of the insert to aligned cargo rings or cooperating straps carried by one or more walls of the container. Front and rear flaps reversely folded or other reinforcement means to reinforce the floor portion are attached to the floor wall of the container to keep the insert from shifting. Installers need not enter the insert to fix it to the container. Shooters and flaps are included to control loading and unloading. The insert may be compartmentalized.

    • A flexible liner for lining the interior of a cargo container, and including a multitude of unique connecting segments spaced along edges of the liner to help secure the liner in the cargo container. Each of these connecting segments comprises a multitude of layers located one on top of another and held together over a given area. The layers of a first type of connecting segment include a respective one portion of a first liner panel, a respective one portion of a second liner panel, and first and second sections of a respective one reinforcing member. The layers of each of these connecting segments form a through opening extending through the connecting segment and spaced from the perimeter thereof. The layers of a second type of connecting segment include a respective one portion of a first liner panel, a respective one portion of a second liner panel, first and second sections of a respective one first reinforcing member, and a respective one second reinforcing member. In each of these second type of connecting segments, the fifth layer of connecting segment is captured between a pair of other layers, and is spaced from the perimeter, of the connecting segment.

    • A bag of tough, flexible material, sealed to be liquid tight except for filling and emptying access ports, is designed for mounting in a standard transportation container. The bag is then filled with a bulk liquid and transported in the container to a desired destination where it is again emptied. To avoid the transportation cost of returning many such bags to the point of origin, while nevertheless not simply discarding them, the present invention provides the third alternative of so constructing each bag that, after use, it can be cut to become suitable for use as a tarpaulin. For this purpose the bag is constructed of a central, generally cylindrical, elongated portion extending at each end into a curved end portion. Tie down devices, i.e. flaps each containing a rigid eye for receiving a tie down rope, are arranged in a pair of circumferential rows extending around the periphery of the central portion near each end portion and in a further pair of adjacent parallel rows extending longitudinally along the central portion between the circumferential rows. By cutting the used bag longitudinally between the latter pair of rows and peripherally outwardly of the circumferential rows, the central portion is transformed into a rectangular sheet with the tie down devices disposed around its periphery.

    • The specification discloses various embodiments of apparatus adapted to function as convertible wire rope load binders, container lashing or pullers. All embodiments utilize a wire rope clamp of the type which grips the wire rope on tensioning of the wire rope, and a threaded tubular extension coaxial with the rope pass line, in combination with a slack take-up device, which may be any of a variety of slack take-up devices threaded onto the tubular extension. A preferred embodiment employs a slack take-up device in the form of an over-center or toggle lever and a sheave device attached to the body of the clamp. Another embodiment employs a combined hook and clevis device having a screw connection to the body of the clamp. Another embodiment utilizes a winch device on the tensioning end of the wire rope to provide for tensioning the wire rope. Another embodiment employs a rectangular frame surrounding the body of the clamp, the frame having an opening through which a threaded tubular extension on the clamp body extends. A nut on the tubular extension cooperates with the frame to adjust the body of the clamp in relation to the frame.
