摘要： A recyclable article having an external surface with an image printed thereon by droplets of ink is provided. The droplets of ink comprise a composition that includes a hydrophilic component. In embodiments, the hydrophilic component can facilitate the separation or loosening of the image from the external surface of the container when the image is exposed to a liquid-based solution at an elevated temperature. Methods for facilitating recycling of recyclable articles having printed images are also disclosed.

In one embodiment, a glass container with resistance to delamination and improved strength may include a body having an inner surface, an outer surface and a wall thickness extending between the outer surface and the inner surface. At least the inner surface of the body may have a delamination factor less than or equal to 10. The glass container may further include a compressively stressed layer extending from the outer surface of the body into the wall thickness. The compressively stressed layer may have a surface compressive stress greater than or equal to 150 MPa.

摘要： A container for a beverage or food has a marking area having a sufficiently malleable material, such as wax, situated on the surface of the container for allowing a user to imprint and substantially maintain an identifying mark thereon. In preferred embodiments, the marking area is contained in a recess in the container, such that the identifying mark is embedded therein and is thus protected from inadvertent alterations. The wax and the marking area on the container surface may each be of at least one different color with respect to each other, such that when the identifying mark is imprinted in the marking area, the identifying mark is the same color or colors as the marking area, increasing the visibility of the identifying mark against the contrasting wax color. The user of the beverage or food container is able to easily identify and keep track of the container, even when it is among a group of similar containers, such as on the bench or sideline of a sports team or other club activity, social event, or in any other group setting, including at home within a family.

摘要： The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts and with relatively low or no water content, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.

摘要： Thermally formed thermoplastic articles can be protected from stress cracking in the presence of stress cracking promoting compounds by forming a shaped article comprising a thermoplastic and a liquid hydrocarbon oil composition. We have found that the liquid hydrocarbon oil composition prevents the stress cracking promoting materials from interacting with the polymeric structure of the stressed container to prevent or inhibit stress cracking in such materials. The methods and compositions of the invention are particularly useful in preventing stress cracking in polyethylene terephthalate beverage containers during bottling operations during which the bottle is contacted with aqueous and non-aqueous materials such as cleaners and lubricants that can interact with the polyester to cause stress cracking particularly in the container base. A process for lubricating a container, such as a beverage container, or a conveyor for containers, by applying to the container or conveyor, a thin continuous, substantially non-dripping layer of a liquid lubricant. The process provides many advantages compared to the use of a conventional dilute aqueous lubricant.
