    • A thread chaser device comprises an elongated member. A coupling mechanism is formed at one end of the member. A thread cutting device is formed at the other end of the member and is spaced from the coupling mechanism. The elongated member may define an internal bore located between the coupling mechanism and the thread cutting device. In one embodiment the thread chaser device may be at least two inches long and has a thin walled construction. The bore may closely receive a stud to maintain the angular orientation of the thread chaser relative to the stud.

    • A tapping tool for repairing damaged threads on PVC pipe and PVC pipe fittings (e.g. T-connectors, elbows, etc.) includes an elongate shaft with a handle member fixed to a proximal end and a head fixed to an opposite distal end. A threaded tap formed of hardened steel is positioned and disposed on the head for forced, threaded engagement with the threads of the PVC pipe or fitting. Manual rotation of the handle serves to advance and withdraw the head along the threads of the PVC pipe or fitting as the tap cuts and reshapes damaged threads, thereby restoring the threads of the PVC pipe or fitting to a uniform, functional condition.

    • A pivoting split thread chasing die for rethreading and cleaning damaged or inhibited studs or bolts; and a method of manufacturing the die. The identical main body halves of the pivoting split die, when assembled together with an assembly pin form a pivoting split die with opposing front and rear faces and a hexagonal outside periphery. Threads are formed on the inside periphery of the pivoting split die allowing for engagement with the threads of a stud or bolt. One or more material reliefs are formed on the inside periphery of the pivoting split die to enhance the cleaning and rethreading ability of the pivoting split die threads. These reliefs also serve as points for which debris can escape while performing a rethreading procedure. To rethread or clean a damaged or inhibited bolt or stud, apply an appropriate lubricant to the area to be rethreaded or cleaned. Open up the pivoting split die and install around existing good threads of the stud or bolt and close pivoting split die until minimal closure gap exists. Select the appropriate wrenching tool and work the pivoting split die back and forth (counter-clockwise and clockwise) over the damaged or inhibited threads until the pivoting split die begins to move about the threads freely.

    • A tool for repairing damaged threads within a bore. A generally cylindrically shaped tool body includes a threaded section at its bottom end, and an axial bore extending from a point adjacent the bottom end of the tool body to an upper terminal point in a higher portion of the tool body. The bore is closed off at its bottom end by a disk-shaped wall. A particulate waste entry aperture in the wall surrounding the axial bore is located adjacent the bottom end of the tool body, and an exit aperture is located higher in the tool body. Drive-receiving means is located at the upper end of the tool body. A housing, in which the tool body is rotatably secured with an airtight seal, encloses the portion of the tool body in which the exit aperture is located. The housing provides a space that completely encircles the tool body, and is in communication with the exit aperture at all times. The housing has an outlet opening that can be operatively connected with a conventional suction source and waste disposal system.

    • A rethreading tool (10) for reconditioning and rethreading the threads (62) of a stud (60) is described. The tool includes a moveable jaw (26) having an extension (26A) pivotably mounted into a slot 24 of a fixed jaw (16). The extension and a first portion (16A) of the fixed jaw form a cam surface (40) which is activated by a cam nut (56) to move the moveable jaw toward the fixed jaw after positioning of the tool around the stud. Upon closing, the jaws form a complete circular opening (42) which contains a complete circular thread die (48) formed from a first thread die (22) in the fixed jaw and a second thread die (46) in the moveable jaw. In use, the tool is placed over the threads of the stud and the jaws are moved into the closed position such that the complete thread die is adjacent the threads of the stud. The tool is then rotated off of the stud.

    • A bolt and screw repairing tool comprises mainly a main body, a rotating cutting and pressing body, and a positioning cutting and pressing body. The main body comprises a handle, a protruded portion, and a recessed portion. The protruded portion is provided with a through hole and a threaded hole in communication with the through hole. The threaded hole receives a thumbscrew. The protruded portion further comprises a slot. The recessed portion is provided with a receiving hole. The rotating cutting and pressing body comprises a clamping head having a cutting and pressing plate with a triangular edge attached thereto. The rotating cutting and pressing body is received securely in the receiving hole of the recessed portion of main body by means of a shaft which can be rotated to the left and to the right for an angle of 15 degrees respectively. The positioning cutting and pressing body comprises a vertical cutting and pressing plate fastened to a long threaded rod emerging from other side of main body by passing through the through hole and engaging with adjusting wheel. The cutting and pressing bodies are used to clamp the damaged work piece (bolt) for repairing by rotating the main body to move along the paths of threaded portion of the work piece (bolt).
