    • The invention relates to a rescue terminal for providing access to an air filter in case of an emergency, comprising a control system configured and provided to be activated upon a detection of a case of an emergency and having: at least one signaling device configured and provided to emit a signal upon activation of the control system; and a communication unit configured and provided for at least one of receiving and transmitting information indicative for a case of an emergency. The rescue terminal further comprises a receiving housing being configured and provided for receiving an air filter device. The invention further relates to an air filter device and a rescue system. The rescue terminal, the air filter device and the rescue system enable a user of the air filter device to quickly access the air filter device in case of an emergency.

    • The invention describes software (including mathematical models implemented in software) and related electronic circuits that can be used to combine data from local, inexpensive dust sensors (particle counters) with Internet-available rich data on pollutants, weather, optional household devices, sensors, and appliances to create a rich picture of the local environment, shape that environment through non-trivial control of said household appliances and ventilation systems to reduce buildup of household dust on surfaces or reduce sensitive individuals' exposure to specific pollutants, and monitor individuals' exposure to pollutants. The software might live in a smartphone (such as the inventors' iPhone prototype), related hardware devices (such as a pollution sensor communicating via bluetooth with the smartphone) or in heating/cooling control system such as a common household thermostat. In particular, advanced control of windows or inexpensive air filters within a common forced air climate system to mitigate air pollution inexpensively are envisioned.

    • The present disclosure is a filtration monitoring system. Filtration monitoring system may include a sensor configured to measure a characteristic of usage of a monitored filter. The sensor may be communicatively coupled to a controller which is configured to transfer measured data to a server of the filter monitoring system. Server may be configured to store historical data regarding representative filter usage and may determine a predicted expiration time for a monitored filter which may be adjusted based upon the measured data from the sensor.

    • The invention is directed to a direct replacement air filtration or handler filter that is placed within an air flow channel within an air handler unit having a housing. A motor in communication with a controller and having an at least one sensor input or a timer or a transceiver and processing module. A filter media storage area is located on one end of the housing, with a pleated, folded filter media folded and compactly stored inside the filter media storage area. An exposed filter media containment area is located on an opposed end within the housing with the filter media extending therebetween. The filter media being paid out or advanced from the filter media storage area across the housing where it is exposed to air within the air flow channel as it removes contaminants from the air. The motor can be activated by said controller in response to input from the at least one sensor or based on a timed input from said timer and rotate an at least one movement member to move the filter media across the exposure area. This allows for higher efficiency operation and reduces maintenance and energy costs. The sensors and communications capability allow for the use of the filter in providing Air Quality Management (AQM). AQM allows the filter to monitor the quality of the air as it passes through the filter and interact with a network system to monitor the air quality at the point of filtration.
