摘要： An exercise system has an operating unit, an input unit, a detector, a control unit and a display unit. The operating unit is an operation device that receives forces exerted by a user. The input unit is for setting a personal physical parameter set of the user. The detector senses a heart rate of the user. The control unit receives the personal physical parameter set from the input unit, receives the heart rate from the detector, defines a boundary heart rate according to the personal physical parameter set and generates a display command by comparing the heart rate with the boundary heart rate. The display unit receives the display command to accordingly generate a safety indication signal. The user can prevent injuries or over-training fatigue by perceiving the safety indication signal and then adjust the exercise intensity.

摘要： Described is a motivational fitness device, which controls the audio output of a television or audio component in response to the heart rate. The user must exercise in their specific heart rate target training range to keep their entertainment device turned on at an enjoyable volume. A heart rate sensing device relays heart rate to a processor unit. The processor receives and compares the user's heart rate to the specified target range and sends control signals (or not) to the entertainment device. If the user's heart rate drops below the target range, the volume of the audio output of their entertainment device will gradually decrease until the user reacquires their target. Conversely, if the user is exercising too vigorously, the volume will increase, motivating the user to reacquire their target heart rate range.

摘要： A microprocessor based exercise treadmill control system is disclosed which includes various features to enhance user operation. These features include programs operative to: permit a set of user controls to cause the treadmill to initially operate at predetermined speeds; permit the user to design custom workouts; permit the user to switch between workout programs while the treadmill is in operation; and perform an automatic cooldown program where the duration of the cooldown is a function of the duration of the workout or the user's heart rate. The features also include a stop program responsive to a detector for automatically stopping the treadmill when a user is no longer on the treadmill and a frame tag module attached to the treadmill frame having a non-volatile memory for storing treadmill configuration, and operational and maintenance data.

The control unit may be configured to wirelessly upload the athletic performance data to a base station and wirelessly download athletic performance information determined by the base station based on the athletic performance data. The display screen may be configured to display the athletic performance information to the individual. The base station may also be configured to store the athletic performance data.

摘要： Exercise systems and methods are provided that create and run exercise programs that are custom tailored to individual users. An exercise program for a specific user is based upon the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate. The exercise programs may include a series of workouts for the user to perform. Each workout requires the user to exercise at various intensity levels so that the user's heart rate moves between different predetermined target heart rate zones. The target heart rate zones are calculated from data relating to the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate. As the user's fitness level changes, the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate also change. Creation of new exercise programs uses the most current heart rate data to calculate the target heart rate zones, thereby continuously tailoring the exercise programs to the user.
