摘要： A dual lumen gastrointestinal feeding and aspirating device includes an aspiration channel which carries a feeding channel. The aspiration channel has a distal opening with a larger size than that of the feeding channel so it can operate more effectively as a stent and accommodate larger sized instruments. The distal end of the aspiration channel is repeatably moveable between open and closed conditions in response to the extension and retraction, respectively, of the instrument therethrough.

The support bead is free of joints or bonding lines extending between the lumen(s) and ambient so that the lumen is free of unintended fluid communication between the lumen and ambient, and the lumen is capable of transporting or containing gaseous or fluid materials without leakage. The support bead may encapsulate an electrical conductor, which may be a heating wire for the purpose of providing a heat source to fluid flow in the central passage of the tubing product. Alternatively, the electrical conductor may be an energy or signal conducting element suited for sensing purposes or data transmission along a length of the tubing, for example. A lumen termination fitting may connect to the tubing. Apparatus and methods for making the tubing product are also disclosed.

A plurality of ultrasonic transmitting elements (40T, 42T) may be arranged within the secondary passageway of the medical tubing or as part of the sensing receptacle for transmitting respective ultrasonic signals across the lumens to a corresponding plurality of ultrasonic receiving elements (40R, 42R) of the sensing receptacle. Alternatively, the sensing receptacle may include a plurality of ultrasonic transmitting and receiving elements (40, 42, 44) transmitting respective signals across the lumens for return reflection at an interface of the secondary passageway.
