摘要： A guide wire for a catheter is inserted for use into the catheter and has a wire body, a reshapeable shaping ribbon (wire material) mounted such that a part of the base end side of the shaping ribbon is fixed to the front end side (small diameter section) of the wire body and a part of the front end side of the shaping ribbon extends in the direction to the front end of the guide wire from the front end of the wire body, and a helical coil installed so as to cover both the front end side of the wire body and the shaping ribbon. The coil is divided into a first coil and a second coil, and the first coil is divided into a fine pitch section and a rough pitch section. The bending rigidity of the fine pitch section is greater than that of the rough pitch section.

摘要： The present invention provides a wire guide (20) suitable for use in a body vessel, such as a peripheral vessel. The wire guide comprises a core member (22) and a first coiled member (40), each having proximal and distal ends. In one embodiment, the core member comprises at least one recessed portion (36), wherein the proximal end of the first coiled member is seated at least partially within the recessed portion to form a substantially flush exterior surface with the core member. The wire guide further preferably comprises a second coiled member (50) having proximal and distal ends, wherein the second coiled member is disposed distal to the first coiled member. The distal end of the first coiled member may be partially intertwined with the proximal end of. the second coiled member. A shaping ribbon (60) may be disposed substantially beneath the second coiled member to achieve a desired curvature at the distal tip of the wire guide.

摘要： A method of making a guide wire involves butting a connection end face at a proximal end of a first wire against a connection end face at a distal end of a second wire while applying voltage and a pressing force to weld together the first and second wires at a welded portion. The welded portion forms a projection that projects outwardly in an outer peripheral direction relative to portions of the first and second wire adjacent the projection. The outer dimension of the projection at the welded portion is adjusted so that upon completing adjusting the outer dimension of the projection the projection still projects outwardly in the outer peripheral direction relative to the portions of the first and second wire adjacent the projection.

摘要： A guide wire for a catheter comprises an elongated hollow shaft has a lumen for delivering or leading away the fluid, and an insertion aid in the form of a flexible wire coil connected coaxially to a distal end of the hollow shaft. The wire coil has a guide wire tip arranged at a distal end, a core wire being arranged in the lumen of the hollow shaft to control the flexibility of the guide wire. The core wire extends out of the lumen and through the wire coil to the guide wire tip. A distal inner area of the wire coil adjacent to the guide wire tip in a proximal direction communicates with the lumen of the hollow shaft by means of a fluid channel formed next to the core wire and has at least one outwardly open passage opening for the fluid to be introduced or removed.
