摘要： A urinary-control device for inhibiting male incontinence includes upper and lower clamping members each having a substantially arcuate inner surface adapted to be disposed about a portion of a penis. A hinge allows articulated movement of the upper and lower clamping members relative to one another. A self-locking mechanism is adapted to adjustably lock the clamping members together, thereby mounting the device to the penis. A protrusion is formed on the inner surface of the lower clamping member and extends toward the inner surface of the upper clamping member to collapse the urethra to inhibit flow of urine therethrough when the device is mounted to the penis. A plurality of vein-relief portions are disposed spaced from one another and formed on the inner surface of the upper clamping member such that the device does not constrict blood flow through the penis when the device is mounted to the penis.

摘要： A device for managing urinary incontinence comprises a resilient body that engages the external genitalia and sealingly occludes the urethral meatus. In female embodiments, the body fits between the labia minora and the floor of the vulval vestibule, occluding the meatus. An adhesive on the body provides a sealing engagement with the meatus. In a first female embodiment, the body has a base with an adhesive layer that seats against the vestibule floor. A pair of flexible, lateral flaps engage the labia minora. A layer of super-absorbent material may be situated between the base and the adhesive layer, and/or a layer of scrim material may be so situated. The body may have a longitudinal ridge with a posterior edge having a finger hole to facilitate installation and removal of the device. In a second female embodiment, the body is substantially tubular, with the adhesive on the exterior surface of the body. In a third female embodiment, the body is an elastomeric bladder, filled with a liquid or gel, that conformingly fits between the labia minora and the vestibule floor so as to occlude the meatus. The exterior surface of the bladder is coated with an adhesive to sealingly occlude the meatus. In male embodiments, the device includes a resilient pad with adhesive on one surface. The pad conforms to and adhesively attaches to the penile glans, with the adhesive sealingly occluding the meatus. Securing tabs may be provided to adhere to the glans or the penile shaft.

摘要： The incontinence control device of the present invention as described includes a cloth strap adapted to encircle a penis, the strap having cooperative pressure adherence layers on portions of the inner and outer surfaces so that the strap can form a circumference when the inner adherence layer is engaged with the outer adherence layer of the strap. The inner surface of the strap also has a compressible pad adjacent the pressure adherence layer and another compressible pad in fixed relation to the first pad. An inflatable sac is affixed to the strap between the two compressible pads. A tube passes through the strap to communicate with the interior of the inflatable sac at one end of the tube. A check valve is attached at the other end of the tube. A syringe is adapted to engage the check valve so that air in the syringe can be injected through the tube into the sac to inflate the sac. In the inflated condition, the sac and incontinence control device are adapted to impinge the urethra within the penis to, thereby, restrict the flow of urine through the urethra. The sac has a predetermined free shape with a height greater than the thickness of the two compressible pads so that the sac will maintain contact with the penis even when the sac is not inflated to ensure that the strap will not slip.
