摘要： A system and method for detecting stroke in an individual, and in particular a sleeping individual. The individual has sensors on a least one hand or wrist for detecting electrical and/or muscular activity. The sensors may be included in or on a glove or bracelet worn by the individual. The absence of electrical and/or muscular activity is indicative of a stroke, and when such absence is detected, an alert is raised. Absence of detecting electrical and/or muscular activity can be detected in only one hand and/or wrist to avoid false alarms from REM sleep which results in the absence of electrical and/or muscular activity in both hands.

摘要： A gastric sensing system configured to monitor a patient's food intake is provided. The gastric sensing system includes a sensing apparatus adapted to measure satiety of a patient including strain exerted by the stomach. The sensing apparatus includes a sensor, configured to measure satiety of a patient, coupled to a microcontroller and a communication antenna. The communication antenna is configured to wirelessly transmit data collected by the sensors to a remote device. The remote device is in wireless communication with the sensing apparatus and configured to provide information collected by the sensing apparatus to a patient or physician. If the sensing apparatus detects a gastric condition, e.g., stomach strain, exceeds a predetermined threshold, the remote device alerts the patient or physician.

摘要： A method and system are provided for characterizing motion data. The method and system obtain point specific (PS) motion data for a plurality of map points. The PS motion data indicates an amount of motion that occurred at the corresponding map point on a wall of the heart during at least one cardiac cycle. The method and system, calculate mechanical activation times (MAT) for the map points, identifying a group of neighbor map points for a current map point, and modifying the MAT corresponding to the current map point based on the MATs corresponding to at least a portion of the group of neighboring map points. Further, the method and system repeat the identifying and modifying operations for at least a subset of the map points.

摘要： Systems and methods for inhibiting an occurrence of an apneic or hypoxic event are disclosed. Physiological data is received from a subject and analyzed to detect an impending apneic event or an impending hypoxic event. A stimulation is applied to the subject to inhibit occurrence of the impending apneic or hypoxic event after an occurrence of a predetermined condition. The physiological data can include respiratory data, cardiological data, or a combination thereof. The analyzing includes use of a point-process model and gross body movement data of the subject. Therapeutic effectiveness of the stimulation is increased by accounting for gross body movements of the patient.

The portable apparatus comprises a man machine user interface; a timer unit; a control unit, arranged to provide an invitation to the patient as an instruction via the interface to perform a motion exercise, upon a trigger from the timer unit or upon a patient self initiation. In an embodiment the apparatus comprises a sensor to record measurements related to said motion exercise. Further, a storage unit is arranged to retrievably store patient input data and said measurements. This enables diagnosing a degree of a neurological disease or an effect of a medication on said neurological disease.

The system detects a physical characteristic of the patient and provides feedback based on the detected characteristic. For instance, the system may detect surface muscle pressures of the forearm to provide real-time visual biofeedback to the patient based on a comparison of the detected muscle pressure and predefined values indicative of appropriate motor function.
