摘要： A mascara brush and method of manufacture thereof provides a mascara brush with bristle fibers that are split into numerous fragments. The mascara brush is made with bristle fibers having longitudinal voids. The brush is then conditioned by passing a rotating wire wheel over the bristle fibers . The wire wheel splits the bristle fibers into numerous bristle fragments. The conditioned brush is softer to the touch than the original mascara brush. The conditioning can be applied to the entire brush or one or more zones of the brush. The conditioning can be shallow, so that only the bristle tips are conditioned, or deep, so that a substantial length of the bristle is conditioned.

摘要： A wafer probe station is equipped with an integrated environment control enclosure substantially surrounding a supporting surface for holding a test device, such enclosure limiting fluid communication between the interior and exterior of the enclosure and preferably also providing EMI shielding and a dark environment. The limited communication between the interior and exterior of the enclosure is kept substantially constant despite positioning movement of either the supporting surface or probes. The positioning mechanisms for the supporting surface and probes each are located at least partially outside of the enclosure.

The other cross-sectional area or the sum of all the other cross-sectional areas controls the diffusion rate of the antimicrobial substance.

摘要： Increased carpet sweeping effectiveness of a broom is achieved by simple means comprising the application of a heat source or additive means sufficient to form nodules (13) on the ends of the bristles (12) of the broom. The ends of the bristles (12) are the areas of the bristles (12) that make physical contact with surface debris or with the surface being cleaned. The bristles (12) or some part of the bristles (12) can be flagged and a plurality of nodules (13) can be formed on the split sections of the flagged bristles as is shown in FIG. 5B. The nodules (13) increase the surface area of the ends of the broom's bristles (12) and thus increase friction between the ends of the bristles (12) and the surface debris. The nodules (13) also provide the improved broom with an ability to grab, hook or entangle surface debris.
