    • An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for concurrently forming a plurality of pipelines. The apparatus includes a support chassis coupled to at least one transportation facilitation member. The transportation facilitation member facilities the movement of the support chassis along a surface. A first pipe fuser is disposed on the support chassis and is configured to fuse a first section of pipe to a first pipeline. A second pipe fuser may also be disposed on the support chassis. The second pipe fuser may be configured to independently fuse a second section of pipe to a second pipeline. The first pipe fuser fuses the first section of pipe to the first pipeline with the support chassis in a stationary position. The second pipe fuser fuses the second section of pipe to the second pipeline with the support chassis in the same stationary position.

    • A thrust bearing tilting pad has face with a border region including an engagement surface and defining a pocket with generally longitudinal sidebars and a bottom. The pad has leading and trailing portions, with the face extending generally longitudinally therebetween. The leading and trailing portions can be positioned upstream and downstream, respectively, relative to a direction of movement of a runner. The pad is pivotally supported by (e.g., mechanical and/or hydrostatic) pivot and can cooperate with one or more other pads and fluid within a housing to hydrodynamically and mechanically support the runner in an axial position. In another embodiment, the pad tilts free of mechanical engagement with other pads. The leading portion can define an entrance to the pocket and the sidebars can converge along the direction of motion of the runner. The pocket hydrodynamically increases pressure on the runner during rotation, and generates pressure effecting on the face counteraction force about the pivot and upstream relative to the rotation direction in order to counteract spragging force. The pocket can also have a generally tapered profile or an abrupt step.

    • An assembly and method for processing extrudate material containing curves or angles into a predetermined overall configuration, including having a die assembly for an extruder which assembly controls the cross-sectional shape or profile of the extrudate and selectively varies the path of the extrudate as it leaves the die assembly. A support member is provided which has a predetermined overall configuration and profile to receive the extrudate and maintain its configuration. A driving apparatus is also provided for continuously driving either the support member or the die assembly relative to the other while the extrudate is being received in the support member, and until the entire predetermined overall configuration has been completed. The path of the extrudate is variably directed by the die assembly as it leaves the extruder in coordination with the relative speeds involved to conform the extrudate configuration to the predetermined overall configuration of the support member.

    • An improved apparatus and method for determining the existence and severity of a crack in a shaft system is provided. The apparatus includes means for mounting multiple vibration responsive output transducers around an outer circumference of the shaft system, allowing simultaneous measurements of vibrational response of the shaft system when multiple vibration responsive output transducers are mounted to the mounting means. In a first approach, the mounting means comprises a collar having two connected arcuate members, with drilled milled and tapped apertures for mounting radial input and output transducers. Torsional input and output transducers may also be mounted tangentially on the collar in drilled milled and tapped heads of bolts used to connect the two arcuate members. In a second approach, the mounting means comprises a plurality of support blocks disposed substantially symmetrically around and protruding outward from the outer collar circumference with each of the blocks orienting at least one transducer in a radial direction and at least one transducer in a tangential direction. Each block may further orient another transducer in an axial direction.
