    • A multiprocessing method suitable for realizing satisfactory online processing by synchronizing data processing in respective element processor nodes in spite of a loosely coupled system used with the plural element processor nodes driven with individual clocks, the method is characterized in that the plural element processor nodes driven with the individual clocks and an information transfer medium through which the respective element processor nodes provide and acquire data each other are used, the respective element processor nodes start cyclic data processing according their own judgment at timing of providing or acquiring trigger data, perform predetermined calculation after acquiring the input data from the data source so as to provide calculation result into the information transfer medium, and acquire a plurality of calculation result provided by other element processor nodes from the information transfer medium to determine operation result obtained from the plural calculation result through logical decision as output data, thereby outputting the output data into the output target from any one of the element processor nodes having the output data.

    • A decentralized processing system having a plurality of subsystems of the same type which are connected to one another. Each subsystem has a diagnosis means for diagnosis of failure in other subsystems, and functions to take a suitable countermeasure in response to the result of the diagnosis. When a failure has occurred in any one of the subsystems constituting the processing system, each subsystem can conduct a suitable fault time processing in accordance with the state of the failure. After the recovery from the failure, each system can execute a processing for recovering the ordinary status. The subsystems can correspond with each other to conduct the processings in synchronization as required. It is, therefore, possible to attain synchronous operation of two or more subsystems in various control systems or the like.

    • A method of retrieving and editing distributed information, in which one of a plurality of equipment units connected to a common signal transmission line issues or originates a request to retrieve data information distributed among and stored in respective files of the other equipment units and to edit the distributed data information. These two other equipment units edit both the received data information from the first equipment unit and data information retrieved in these two equipment units, and then send the edited data information to the transmission line.

    • In a data transmission system with such a construction that a plurality of terminal units are connected to a first and a second loop transmission line for transmitting messages in a first direction and in a second direction which is opposite to said first direction, respectively, through a pair of transmission control units (the one unit being connected to said first loop transmission line with the other unit being connected to said second loop transmission line), each transmission control unit sends a check message sequentially in order to check the state of a minor loop which connects two adjacent pairs of transmission control units. This check message has a data field, in which an initial value is set at the sending time. The value of this data field is incremented by one in each transmission control unit through which the message passes to make a round through the minor loop. Each transmission control unit decides as to whether the value of the data field of the received check message has a prescribed value or not, thereby to discriminate if the message generated by the transmission control unit itself has made a round through the minor loop and returned. If the sent out check message is not received within a prescribed period (after sending), the transmission control unit confirms the presence of an abnormality on a minor loop with the unit as a start point, and thereafter switches its operation to use the bypass transmission line for sending usual messages.
