    • A plasma display panel capable of being fast driven with low voltage by reducing a distance between an address electrode and a Y electrode. The plasma display panel includes a pair of substrates, barrier ribs, discharge electrodes, and an address electrode. The substrates are arranged at a predetermined interval to face each other and form a plurality of discharge spaces between facing surfaces of the substrates. The barrier ribs are arranged between the substrates to partition a space between the substrates into a plurality of discharge cells each having a horizontal cross-section of a circle or an oval. The discharge electrodes are arranged at predetermined intervals between the substrates. The address electrode is arranged a predetermined distance apart from the discharge electrodes in a substrate direction.

    • A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) has a high aperture ratio of a discharge cell, a high light transmittance, and a high luminous efficiency and a stable and efficient discharge occurs uniformly at a low driving voltage on inner sidewalls of the discharge cell and concentrates in the center of the discharge cell. The PDP includes: a front substrate and a rear substrate facing each other and separated from each other; barrier ribs of a dielectric material arranged between the front substrate and the rear substrate to define discharge cells together with the front substrate and the rear substrate; discharge electrodes arranged within the barrier ribs, the discharge electrodes being separated from each other and surrounding the discharge cells and having at least one corner portion for surrounding the discharge cells; fluorescent layers arranged in the discharge cells; a discharge gas contained within the discharge cells; and an attenuator adapted to reduce a strength of an electric field generated between at least one pair of corner portions of the discharge electrodes, the corner portions facing each other, to be less than a strength of an electric field generated between portions of the discharge electrodes facing each other, other than the corner portions, in the discharge cells.

    • In a plasma display panel first and second substrates are located apart and substantially parallel to each other. A barrier rib layer is located between the first substrate and the second substrate. Discharge cells having various cross-sectional areas are formed within the barrier rib layer. Phosphor layers are formed within the discharge cells. Ring shaped first and second electrodes, conforming to the cross-sectional area of the discharge cells, surround the discharge cells adjacent to one or the other of the first and second substrates. The first electrodes are coupled together along a first direction and the second electrodes are coupled together along the same first direction. Address electrodes extend in a direction crossing the first direction and include protruding portions conforming to inner contours of the discharge cells.

    • A plasma display panel (PDP) is disclosed. The PDP includes: a first substrate and a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, a barrier rib, partitioning discharge cells together with the first substrate and the second substrate, and made of a dielectric material, common-address electrode lines, embedded in the barrier rib to surround the discharge cells, and extending to cross the discharge cells, scan electrode lines, embedded in the barrier rib to surround the discharge cells, separated from the common-address electrode lines, and extending to intersect the common-address electrode lines at the respective discharge cells, phosphor layers formed in the discharge cells. In one embodiment, the PDP is driven by a driving waveform including a reset period, an address period, and a sustain-discharge period.
