    • A device for machining the human cornea with focused pulsed femtosecond laser radiation comprises scanner components for local setting of the beam focus, a control computer for controlling the scanner components, and a control program for the control computer. The control program contains instructions that upon execution by the control computer are designed to bring about the generation of an incision figure in the cornea encompassing a flap incision (38, 40). In accordance with the invention the incision figure further encompasses an auxiliary incision (50) connected with the flap incision and leading locally, preferentially directly, away from the latter as far as the surface of the cornea. The auxiliary incision is expediently generated temporally ahead of the flap incision and forms a discharge channel through which gases can escape that may arise in the course of the cutting of the flap incision.

    • A medical office, particularly for surgical eye treatments, includes at least one medical device which is controlled by a program-controlled computer, with a first plug-in interface for a data storage medium, and a data printing device, which is decoupled electrically and for signalling purposes from the medical device, with a second plug-in interface for the data storage medium. According to the invention, the computer of the medical device is set up to write data into the data storage medium via the first plug-in interface, whereas the data printing device is set up to read and print data stored on the data storage medium. The data storage medium can, for example, be a USB memory stick or another transportable medium, for which, in the data processing industry, standardised plug-in locations are provided. Because no additional galvanic decoupling of the data printing device is necessary, as it would be in the case of direct electrical connection to the medical device, both the device complexity and the cost can be reduced.

The reaction brought about in the treatment region by the light can be an ablation of tissue. The reaction brought about in the treatment region by the light can also be a laser-induced optical perforation of tissue, which is also referred to as photo-disruption. The radiation source can be a laser source. The wavelength range of the light emitted by the radiation source is approximately 1600 nm to approximately 1700 nm, preferably approximately 1625 nm to approximately 1675 nm, most preferably approximately 1640 nm to approximately 1660 nm.
