    • The invention relates to a steering wheel comprising a steering wheel body (30), an airbag unit (3), a detent connection for fixing the airbag unit to the steering wheel body, a contact device having a first and a second contact (8, 9) that are short-circuited for triggering an electric function element, especially an electric horn (24), when the airbag unit is moved in a direction toward the steering wheel body by a pressure exerted on said airbag unit. According to the invention, one of the detent elements of the detent device is, at least in part, electrically conductive and simultaneously forms the first contact (8) of the contact device. When an airbag is fastened according to the floating horn principle, the number of required parts is further reduced and it is possible to easily and securely fix the airbag unit to the steering wheel without the use of tools.

    • A method and apparatus for reconstructing an image of an object using a three dimensional (3D) computerized tomographic (CT) imager having a cone beam radiation source and detector arrangement for acquiring measurement data. The source and detector arrangement is operated at a plurality of source positions along a spiral scan path so as to acquire a corresponding plurality of sets of measurement data representative of radiation attenuation caused by the object. Image reconstruction processing information required for processing of the acquired measurement data in a Radon space partitioned by plurality of vertically oriented coaxial .phi.-planes for reconstructing the image, is pre-calculated and stored in a hitlist. The stored information is pre-calculated on less that all of the .phi.-planes, but due to a symmetry that is induced in the reconstruction processing, the stored information can be used for calculating Radon data for all of the .phi.-planes that partition the Radon space. The size of the hitlist is thus reduced by a factor equal to the number of .phi.-planes for which the stored information is re-used, e.g., 360 for 1/2 degree .phi.-plane spacing and storage of reconstruction processing information for a single .phi.-plane.

    • An airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag module comprises an airbag, a gas generator, a gas generator support, and a visible surface facing the vehicle interior in the installed state formed by different segments of the airbag module. At least two of the segments comprise optically and/or haptically different surfaces and are mechanically connected to each other by means of mechanical interfaces such that the mechanical connection between the segments is at least partially released when triggered by opening the interfaces so that an opening is formed in the visible surface through which the airbag can exit the airbag module. All segments contributing to the formation of the opening for the airbag by opening the interfaces when triggered are thereby directly fastened to the gas generator support.

    • An airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag module comprising an airbag and having a visible surface, facing the vehicle interior when installed, which is formed by different segments of the airbag module, wherein at least two of the segments have optically and/or haptically different surfaces. At least two of the segments each have at least one mechanical interface by means of which they can be mechanically connected to at least one of the other segments, forming a connecting area, and at least one of the segments forms at least one tear line, wherein upon tearing open the tear line in the event of deployment an opening is produced in the visible surface through which the airbag can exit the airbag module.
