    • The portion to be deformed of a metal sheet is heated by irradiating it with a laser beam which is scanned at a high speed, and, when the portion to be deformed has attained a predetermined temperature, a bending force is applied to the portion to be bent to perform bending of the metal sheet. When the shape of a metal sheet is to be worked into a circular arc of 90.degree. having a predetermined radius by means of six bending processes, the metal sheet is worked such that the working process is divided into six processes and the bending processes are sequentially performed after fixing a metal sheet edge of the metal sheet. The yield strength of a steel material is reduced when it is heated and a metal sheet is worked using a laser by which a local heating is possible. Dies are therfore unnecessary, whereby processing at low costs and an apparatus therefor may be achieved.

    • A brushless AC motor has a rotor, N stator pole group, and plural loop-configuration stator windings. The rotor has magnetic poles with alternating N poles and S poles circumferentially disposed at equal interval. The stator has plural stator poles divided to N stator pole groups. Each group is formed circumferentially on the stator with each of adjacent pairs of the groups mutually differing in circumferential position by a desired amount. The stator windings are formed circumferentially on the stator, with each winding disposed immediately adjacent to a corresponding one of the stator pole groups, with respect to a rotor axis direction. As an example, the stator pole has an approximate parallelogram shape in which a top side and a base side of the stator pole in axis direction of the stator has an approximately same width in rotational direction, and the positions of the top side and the base side is shifted in rotational direction to each other.

    • A switched reluctance motor has a rotor and a stator. The stator has first and second stator magnetic pole groups sequentially placed in an axial direction of the rotor. First and second stator magnetic poles in each group are alternately arranged on a same circumference. The first stator magnetic poles are placed every electrical angle 2π and reversely magnetized to each other. The second stator magnetic poles are placed every electrical angle 2π and reversely magnetized to each other. The first magnetic pole is apart from the second magnetic pole by electrical angle π. Each stator magnetic pole in the first stator magnetic pole group is apart from that in the second magnetic pole group by electrical angle π/2 in the circumferential direction.

    • A brushless motor and a related control device are disclosed in a structure wherein a stator has U-phase, V-phase and W-phase stator poles, with two of the U-phase V-phase and W-phase stator poles carry thereon respective phase windings, in the absence of a selected phase winding related to a remaining one of the U-phase V-phase and W-phase stator poles. The respective phase windings have end portions connected together at a junction point. A three-phase alternating voltage is applied to the respective phase windings and the junction point to allow the stator to have an electromagnetic action thereby drivably rotating a rotor. The stator poles may be formed in trapezoid shapes to minimize interference between associated component parts for easy assembly in high productivity and efficiency with a reduction in torque ripple.
