摘要： Disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the substrate sheet is a pulp paper, the intermediate layer is formed from an organic solvent solution of a resin, and the dye receptor layer is formed from an aqueous resin liquid. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be prevented from occurrence of curling caused by temperature change. Also disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the intermediate layer is formed from either an acrylic resin or a resin at least a part of which is crosslinked. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be excellent in smoothness, strength, cushioning properties and writing properties, and further can give an image of high density and high resolution.

摘要： A transfer sheet, for an adhesive layer, for use in the formation of an image by a thermal transfer process, an image forming method using the transfer sheet for an adhesive layer, and an object with an image formed thereon are disclosed. A transfer sheet 1 for an adhesive layer comprises: a substrate sheet 2; and an adhesive layer 3 and an interposing layer 4 laminated in that order on the substrate sheet 2. The substrate sheet 2 and the adhesive layer 3 are separable from each other. The use of the transfer sheet for an adhesive layer in combination with an intermediate transfer medium enables a desired image having a high quality to be efficiently formed on a particular article.

摘要： A thermal transfer recording system, there is prepared a thermal transfer sheet such as a sublimation or heat fusion thermal transfer sheet, and also prepared an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate sheet and a receptor layer disposed on the substrate sheet so as to be transferable; the thus prepared thermal transfer sheet is disposed together with the intermediate transfer recording medium between a heating device such as a thermal head and a platen roller; the thermal head is heated in accordance with an image information to be printed to thereby form the image in the receptor layer of the intermediate transfer recording medium; and thereafter, the image is transferred together with the receptor layer to a transfer-receiving material. When the image is formed to the intermediate transfer recording medium, the intermediate transfer recording medium is pressed at least at one area thereof from front surface side and back surface side thereof so as to fix a relative positional relationship between both ends in a width direction of the intermediate transfer recording medium, to thereby prevent shrinkage of the intermediate transfer recording medium in the width direction thereof.

摘要： An image forming method using a thermal transfer, wherein a dye-receptive layer on a transfer film is transferred to a print sheet and then dye layers on a dye transfer film are superposed on the dye-receptive layer and subjected to an image forming operation of a thermal head so that an image is transferred to the dye-receptive layer. In order to transfer the dye-receptive layer to the print sheet uniformly to enable subsequent formation of an excellent dye image, the quantity of thermal energy being applied by the thermal head to the transfer film is decreased with elapse of time. This principle can also be used for transferring a protective layer to the print sheet on which a dye image has been formed.
