The EPG information is displayed on a left screen 210 and the templates list is displayed on a right screen 220, so that one template desired to be applied is selected on the right screen 220, according to which template, one or a plurality of the EPG information pieces whose label is desired to be created is selected on the left screen 210. Templates 230, 240, 250, and 260 constitute a label set comprised of a plurality of labels, thus enabling creating labels by incorporating information pieces of specified items.

The tape printing device further performs a calculation to obtain the total blank space width based on the total height and the print allowance area and distributes the total width into the upper blank space width, the lower blank space width and the blank space width between the print lines based on the result of the calculation. The blank spaces are positioned according to the blank widths. The dot pattern data is spread along the base lines and positioned in the process.

摘要： A printing device, which is capable of printing image onto a tape-type recording medium along the longitudinal direction of the tape-type recording medium, is also capable of printing the image on the tape-type recording medium in a rotated fashion with respect to the longitudinal direction of the tape-type recording medium. When the image is printed with a certain rotation, it is discriminated whether a length of the image to be printed in the rotated fashion in the width direction of the tape-type recording medium is smaller than the width of the tape-type recording medium. It is further discriminated whether the length, in the width direction of the tape-type recording medium, of the image to be printed after reduced by the reducing means is smaller than the width of the tape-type recording medium; and alarm is actuated if the length of the reduced image is still greater than or equal to the width of the tape-type recording medium.

The present invention is characterized in that the printing device has a decision means for deciding whether or not to print characters and for printing bar-codes with a sufficient height for reading operation by bar-code readers. The printing device automatically omits the string of characters when a character size set by an operator is not large enough to print a string and a bar-code in juxtaposition.

摘要： A method and apparatus for initializing disk drive apparatus wherein a pickup head is positioned near the mid-range of tracks on a disk by moving the head at power-on to an innermost track and thereafter moving the head outwardly. As outward movement begins, a tracking error signal is sensed to indicate a track crossing, and the number of tracks crossed are counted until the head is at the mid-range of tracks. A velocity profile is used to speed movement of the head to its destination.

In write mode the laser power in an optical disk drive is determined in accordance with a DAC value which controls a power supply for the laser, but the correlation between the laser power and the DAC value significantly varies depending on the efficiency of the individual laser diode or laser oscillator. Because the laser power in read mode has been adjusted to a predetermined value during manufacturing, the DAC value which generates the same laser power as the reading laser power is known and is used to generate the desired laser power, such as the writing laser power.

摘要： A magnetooptic recorder uses a magnetooptic disk for any predetermined number of radially inward tracks which are designated as calibration tracks. One of the calibration tracks is selected as a laser calibration track. The selected track is high powered erased and a test pattern is written on the track. A test pattern is repeated at diverse levels of laser recording power. A test pattern preferably includes or is limited to the highest frequency to be recorded in the ensuing data recordings. The recorded test pattern is read back with the readback signal amplitude being envelope indicated and detected. A table of signal envelope values is created in a digital computer. The values then are fit to a curve using second order polynomial curve fitting techniques. The maximal readback signal amplitude is then selected from the curve corresponding to laser write power used to obtain that maximum signal amplitude and is then selected as a criteria for indicating the laser write power as well as the erase write power.
