    • In an incremental encoder, a common terminal which is required always to be electrically connected to a rotary contact plate comprises a plurality of sliding contacts each having a contact point with the rotary contact plate. Respective sliding contacts are positioned so as to come into contact with the rotary contact plate with a positional shift angle. Due to this feature, even in the case where the common terminal is in contact with a signal pulse-generating region of the rotary contact plate having slits formed therein for generating the signal pulse, it is possible that a portion of at least one of the contact points provided on the plurality of sliding contacts is always in contact with the rotary contact plate. Accordingly, a common contact region which is required in a conventional incremental encoder is not necessary, whereby the miniaturization of the incremental encoder can be realized. As far as the common terminal is modified so as to be always in contact with the rotary contact plate, the same advantage can be obtained.

    • A centrifugal brake for a baitcasting reel has contact pieces in the form of collars slidably mounted on rods extending radially of a spool axis to be revolvable with rotation of a spool, and an annular braking member disposed outwardly of a locus of revolution of the collars. The braking member is attached to an inner periphery of a case or cover detachably attached to a reel frame. The collars are movable under a centrifugal force into contact with the braking member. The braking member has an inclined surface formed on an inner periphery thereof. The inclined surface is opposed to the spool and shaped to diverge toward the spool. In the course of attaching the case or cover to the reel frame, the inclined surface pushes the collars down toward the spool axis to facilitate a case attaching operation.

    • A fishing reel includes a spool for winding a fishing line, and a handle for rotating the spool in a line winding direction. The handle is connected to the spool through a handle shaft and a drive gear mounted on the handle shaft. A friction type rotation restrictor is mounted on the handle shaft between the drive gear and handle and linked to a reel body through a one-way clutch. The rotation restrictor prevents rotation in a line unwinding direction of the drive gear and spool against a tension applied to the fishing line and regardless of a stopping phase of the spool.

Even if transfer source graphic data lies across two consecutive words, the processor fetches the source data in single reading, processes the data word-wise at once, and stores the result in the display memory.
