    • A reinforced stripper rubber assembly with a stripper rubber body including a drillstring engaging portion having a drillstring bore extending axially therethrough. The drillstring engaging portion of the stripper rubber body is made from an elastomeric material, has an inner surface that engages a drillstring when the drillstring is dispose therein and has a reinforcing insert receiving recess within an exterior surface thereof extending at least partially around the drillstring bore. A reinforcing insert is disposed within the reinforcing insert receiving recess. The reinforcing insert includes an elastomeric material bonded to the stripper rubber body within the reinforcing insert receiving recess. A support structure is disposed within a support structure engaging portion of the stripper rubber body. The support structure includes a central opening generally aligned with the drillstring bore thereby allowing the drillstring to pass jointly through the central opening and the drillstring bore.

    • A well drilling head comprises a housing and a bearing assembly. The housing has a sidewall structure defining a central bore. The bearing assembly includes an outer barrel, an inner barrel, bearing units and a preload force exerting member. The outer barrel has a central bore and the inner barrel is removably seated within the housing central bore. The bearing units are coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween. A first one of the bearing units is configured for carrying loads exerted radially between the barrels and a second one of the bearing units is configured for carrying loads exerted longitudinally between the barrels. The preload force exerting member maintains force on the longitudinal load carrying bearing unit and said barrels thereby preloading the longitudinal load carrying bearing unit.

    • A system for connecting a stripper rubber to drilling head equipment comprises an adapter, a stripper rubber insert and a pin assembly. The adapter includes a primary bore, a groove extending around the primary bore, drill head equipment engaging structure adjacent the primary bore, and a pin assembly housing. The stripper rubber insert includes a vertically-upstanding flange configured for being engaged within the adapter groove. The flange includes a pin receptacle and the flange cooperatively mates with the adapter groove such that the pin receptacle is alignable with the pin assembly housing. The pin assembly is housed in the pin assembly housing of the adapter. The pin assembly includes a pin movably mounted for being selectively engagable with the pin receptacle for securing the stripper rubber insert to the adapter when the flange is engaged within the adapter groove with the pin receptacle suitably aligned with the pin.

    • A connector is provided for selectively connecting or disconnecting a stripper rubber to or from drilling head equipment such as a bearing assembly. A generally cylindrical adapter connected to the equipment defines a primary bore accommodate a down hole tubular. One or more cam pin bores, adapted to house one or more cam pins, are positioned radially around the adapter substantially parallel to the primary bore. One or more cam lock bores adapted to house one or more at least partially rotatable cam locks, are offset from the pin cam bores such that each cam pin bore partially intersects a corresponding cam lock bore to form an apertaure through which the cam lock engages the cam pin. One or more cam pins are connected to the stripper rubber; and one or more at least partially rotatable cam locks house in the cam lock bores of the adapter optionally engage or disengage the pin cams to respectively connect or disconnect the stripper rubber to or from the equipment.

    • A high-pressure stripper rubber provides inserts and support members that cooperatively support the profile of the rubber against elastic deformation. The inserts dynamically cooperate to resist elastic deformation of the rubber due to down hole pressure. The stripper rubber has a generally cylindrical upper moiety and a dynamic, generally frusto-conical, lower moiety that cooperatively define a bore for receiving oilfield equipment. A generally ring-shaped adapter insert, at least partially within the stripper rubber, is disposed toward the upper moiety for attaching the stripper rubber to drilling head equipment. A structural retention insert assembly provides (1) one or more support members proximately, movably and selectively attached to the adapter insert, and (2) one or more structural retention inserts at least partially within the stripper rubber and distally attached to the one or more support members. The stripper rubber dynamically forms a self-actuating, fluid-tight seal around varying outer diameters of oil field equipment as the equipment is tripped through the stripper rubber bore with minimal deformation of the rubber, even under high pressure.
