摘要： An automated banking machine system and method includes ATMs which accept checks and dispense cash to users. The ATMs are operated to acquire image and magnetic data from deposited checks to determine the genuineness of checks and the authority of a user to receive cash for such checks. Cash may be dispensed to the user from the ATM in exchange for the deposited check. The ATMs dispense cash responsive to communications with a transaction host.

摘要： A word processor application is provided for creating word processor documents wherein the data and presentation can be separated. Data can be stored in a separate location from the presentation surface of the word processor document. Users of the word processor application can establish links (or bindings) between the contents of the data and the presentation surface. A user can modify contents of a word processor document by directly changing the linked data without having to deal with the complexity of the presentation format, which can be constantly changing. A user can modify content of a word processor document, by editing a data store without any knowledge of the current layout of the presentation surface. A user can modify complex backing data through simple document edits, without exposure to the complexities of the data structure.

According to the method, a UI control is displayed that includes a border surrounding the portion of the electronic document and one or more UI items that allow actions to be performed on the portion of the electronic document. The UI control may be displayed continually or displayed when user input is received within the portion of the electronic document. The border of the UI control may form a bounded region that is displayed transparently over the display of the portion of the electronic document. The transparency of the bounded region may be increased gradually when user input is received in the portion of the electronic document and removed gradually when user input is subsequently received outside the portion. A selectable region may be provided within the UI control for selecting and moving the portion of the electronic document to another location within the document.

In addition to this general framework and format, a particular format, known as the reach package format, is defined using the general framework. The reach package format is a format for storing paginated documents. The contents of a reach package can be displayed or printed with full fidelity among devices and applications in a wide range of environments and across a wide range of scenarios.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a device for DNA analysis. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a cassette which comprises a first chamber suitable for isolating DNA from a biological sample that is suspected of containing a target DNA, one or more second chambers suitable for amplifying any target DNA found in the sample, a chamber suitable for digesting the target DNA with restriction endonucleases, a medium for separation of the digestion fragments, and a channel connecting the digestion chamber to the separation medium and being of suitable size for transferring at least a portion of the contents of the digestion chamber to the separation medium. Typically, the medium for separation of the digestion fragments is an electrophoretic medium. The cassette of the present invention can also be used for the separation and identification of a protein of interest in a biological sample. It is within the scope of the present invention that the cassette also contains one or more internal waste chambers into which used reagents and biological sample can be directed and stored for disposal with the cassette. It is also within the scope of the present invention that the cassette contains a chamber for storage or receipt of a biological control sample.

There are no feature losses when saving the word-processor documents as XML. A published XSD file defines all the rules behind the word-processor's XML file format. Hints may be provided within the XML associated files providing applications that understand XML a shortcut to understanding some of the features provided by the word-processor. The word-processing document is stored in a single XML file. Additionally, manipulation of word-processing documents may be done on computing devices that do not include the word-processor itself.
