摘要： In an ink jet recording apparatus in which a filter is placed in an ink supply route, when an ink flow is formed in the ink supply route by ink ejection during recording operations and so on, a valve does not contact firmly to the filter, but when an ejection recovery operation is performed and an ink flow velocity increases, the valve contacts firmly to the filter and covers up a part of the filter. With this structure and operation, the effective cross-section area of the filter decreases and hence, a given quantity of pressure difference is produced between the upstream side and the downstream side of the filter. As a result, bubbles unable to pass through the filter at recording operations can pass through the filter when ejection recovery operations are performed.

An ink jet recording head in which a plurality of ink jet discharging orifices are arranged is placed in parallel with a surface of the recording sheet and in the direction perpendicular to the designated direction of supplying the recorded sheet. An adjustment screw is placed for correcting a warped shape of the ink jet recording head by means of displacing a neighbor of a central portion of a longer side of the ink jet recording head in the designated direction of supplying the recording sheet.

摘要： A method of driving an ink jet head for gradient recording uses an electrical signal comprising an expanding pulse and a reducing, driving pulse. The signal is applied to a transducer such as a piezoelectric element to vary the space of an ink path and discharge ink as a droplet from a discharge port. The width and voltage of the driving pulse are only both increased or both decreased in response to changes in the recording data, with the ratio of the width to the voltage remaining constant. This driving method simplifies circuit construction, and provides for an increased range of droplet diameters and, accordingly, improved gradient recording. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.

In another embodiment, picture quality can be enhanced by using a black colorant having a higher density than the cyan, magenta and yellow colorants.

摘要： An ink jet printing apparatus that can inhibit the possible degradation of image quality caused by variation in the conveyance amount of a print medium is provided. The ink jet printing apparatus includes a detection section detecting the conveyance amount of the print medium, and a print head position adjusting section slightly moving a print head in a conveyance direction of the print medium. The print head position adjusting section adjusts the position of the print head in the conveyance direction according to an error in the conveyance amount of the print medium detected by the detection section. Thus, printing can be performed at the head position adjusted with the error in conveyance amount taken into account. Therefore, the possible degradation of the image quality caused by a conveyance variation can be inhibited.
