    • A cover opening-and-closing support mechanism is provided that reliably locks a gas spring, and in which a rod section of a gas spring is not damaged by a stopper portion. The cover opening-and-closing support mechanism includes: a gas spring equipped with pivot points at both end portions and including a cylinder section and a rod section; a stopper portion rotatably provided at the pivot point at a first of the end portions, the stopper portion making contact with the cylinder section when the gas spring has been extended so as to lock the gas spring; a gas spring stopper including a limiter portion that makes contact with the cylinder section before the stopper portion makes contact with the rod section; and a release handle portion for releasing the locking, provided at the gas spring stopper on substantially an opposite side to the stopper portion, such that the gas spring stopper swings towards substantially the opposite side to the stopper portion due to a weight of the release handle portion.

    • A suspension system for a motor vehicle body having a level regulating device for setting a predetermined height of the motor vehicle body includes an outer tube and at least one piston-cylinder assembly arranged in the outer tube and having a working cylinder, a piston rod and a damping piston having damping valves. The suspension system further includes an oil reservoir with inflow and outflow lines for conducting a flow of oil between the oil reservoir and the at least one piston-cylinder assembly. A pump including a pump piston and a drive is arranged for pumping oil through the inflow and outflow lines for setting the predetermined height of the motor vehicle body.     • A fire damper for sealing a conduit which extends through a concrete slab to prevent fire and toxic gases from passing from one side of the slab to the other, includes a housing which has a partially spherical rotatable valve. The rotatable valve has an internal passageway of substantially the same diameter as an internal diameter of the conduit. The rotatable valve is rotatable within the housing between an open orientation whereby fluid flow through the damper is substantially unimpeded and a closed orientation. The rotatable valve is actuated by a heat detector in the form of two rings of lead alloy located between the housing and the rotatable valve. The damper may also include a deformable seal disposed between the housing and the rotatable valve.
