摘要： A paper-sheet recognition apparatus that acquires information from a paper sheet and recognizes the paper sheet based on the information. The apparatus includes one or more light emitting units that output first to n-th lights (n≧2) of different wavelengths; an emission controller that performs emission control of the light emitting units; a light receiving unit that receive a component of a light, which has been emitted from the light emitting unit and then reflected from and/or transmitted through the paper sheet; and a paper-sheet recognition processor that recognizes the paper sheet by using an optical signal received by the light receiving unit. The emission controller performs the emission control of the light emitting units such that the number of light emissions per one emission cycle with respect each of to the first to n-th lights differs depending on information desired to be used in recognizing the paper sheet.

摘要： A bill recognizing and counting apparatus includes an operation unit that receives setting of bill processing modes including a denomination mode, a counting mode, a different-denomination recognition mode, and an authenticity determination mode; a feeding and transporting mechanism; and a control unit that performs control for changing a processing speed according to the bill processing mode. When the bill processing mode is in the counting mode, the different-denomination recognition mode, or the authenticity determination mode, the control unit increases the processing speed by setting the feeding and transporting mechanism to a higher speed than the speed set in the denomination mode. The increase in speed is in accordance with a reduced time necessary to process a reduced amount of data associated with the denomination mode.

The methods include detecting quadrangles in images of an object in an image data stream generated by the camera, capturing a first image, transforming the first image, binarizing the transformed image, recognizing information in the binarized image, and determining the validity of the recognized information. The method also includes communicating with a server of a financial institution or other organization to determine the validity of the recognized information. The mobile device may include a camera, a display to display an image data stream and captured images, a memory to store a configuration file including parameters for the preprocessing and recognition functions, captured images, and software, and a communication unit to communicate with a server of the financial institution or other organization.

Data sets are read, which respectively contain, for at least two of the processing types, processing-type data by means of which the processing types can be distinguished and the number of the value documents of the respective processing type that are to be fed to the value-document processing apparatus, and display data for actuating the display device are so established from the data sets that, upon actuation with the display data, the display device displays the processing types and the numbers of the value documents. The display device is actuated with the display data, and measuring data are respectively captured by means of the sensor device in accordance with the displayed processing types.
