    • A condensate trap assembly 12 includes a valve body 28 accommodating a condensate trap element 34 and a valve element 36. The valve element 36 is movable by a positioner 26 to direct flow in a condensate line 10 either through the condensate trap afforded by the trap element, or through the valve bypassing the condensate trap, or to shut off the condensate line 10. The positioner rotates the valve element 36 under the control of control means 54 which responds to signals from a sensor 24 detecting the presence or absence of condensate in a monitoring chamber 16 and the temperature within the chamber 16. The control means 54 is also responsive to the temperature sensed by a temperature sensor 22 upstream of a process 2 utilizing steam or other fluid which is applied to the condensate trap assembly 12.

    • The present invention relates to a damper device adapted for controlling the flow of cooled air in freezing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners. The damper device according to one preferred embodiment includes a damper casing having a damper opening of a predetermined size, an opening/closing member slidable in the damper casing for opening/closing the damper opening, a guide mechanism provided at both sides of the opening/closing member, an electromagnet fixed at an end of the opening/closing member having coils therearound, a permanent magnet fixed to one side of the damper casing, and a plurality of elastic members along the inner wall of the damper casing for elastically supporting the opening/closing member.

    • A condensate trap assembly comprises a valve body 2 having a housing 14 which defines an inlet passage 10 and an outlet passage 12, and an access passage 16 within which a condensate trap 4 is housed. The housing 14 also defines a valve chamber 18 within which a valve element 6 is received for rotation, the valve element 6 comprising a body within which there are provided flow passageways 22A, 22B, 22C. The valve element 6 has a projection 36 which extends into the access passage 16. The projection 36 prevents debris from collecting within the valve chamber 18, and the projection 36 may have a recessed channel 40 for catching any such debris.

    • In a so-called condensate trap for discharging condensate, e.g. oil or water from a fluid system which contains air or a gas or vapor under pressure, a single tube which projects into a housing in which the condensate collects contains spaced sensors of an electric capacitive type sensing the maximum level which the condensate is to be allowed to reach within the chamber and a predetermined lower level. A signal from the upper sensor triggers a pilot valve which opens a diaphragm-type discharge valve and a signal from the lower sensor initiates closing of the valve, but only after a time delay, allowing the condensate to fall first to a level below that of the lower sensor. This time delay is related to the time taken for the condensate to fall from the maximum level to that of the lower sensor. The control unit and sensor tube form a self-contained structural assembly for easy installation and replacement. In the floor of the housing forming the condensate collecting chamber there is a weir or well to prevent sediment reaching the diaphragm valve.

    • A moisture separator is provided which incorporates two perforated plates assembled in association with a plurality of nipples. The nipples extend through a plurality of holes in a first of the two perforated plates. Each nipple is provided with one end which has an upset portion to prevent its complete passage through the holes of the first perforated plate. A second perforated plate is assembled with the first perforated plate in such a way so as to prevent the reverse passage of the nipples in a direction opposite that of assembly. The first and second perforated plates can be rigidly fastened together by bolting, riveting or welding. In a moisture separator made in accordance with the present invention, the individual nipples do not require welding, rolling or hydraulic expansion during the assembly process and do not have to be rigidly attached to either of the two perforated plates. The cooperation of the two plates holds the nipples in position.
