    • A water hammer arrester for installation into a water pipeline, the water hammer arrester including an inlet for receiving water from the water pipeline, an outlet for returning the water to the water pipeline, a body connecting the inlet and the outlet, and a piston assembly positioned in the body to allow water to flow from the inlet to the outlet between the piston assembly and the body, wherein the piston assembly is adapted to absorb pressure variations in the water pipeline to thereby at least partially reduce water hammer in the water pipeline in use.

    • A hydraulic elevator system includes a tank and power unit configured with noise and/or vibration abatement features. In one aspect the tank may include an insulated and sealed lid. In another aspect tank-to-floor dampening pads may be used. In another aspect the tank may have an increased thickness and/or stiffening trays or panels may be installed on the tank. Still in yet other aspects the noise and/or vibration abatement features may be associated with the power unit. For instance, in one aspect of the present disclosure the power unit may mount to the tank using a plurality of isolators. In another aspect, silencers and/or an expansion tank may be used to alter the hydraulic fluid flow properties within the system. Still yet, in another aspect certain noise generating components of the power unit may be wrapped in a noise blanket having an air barrier within.

    • A diaphragm pressure expansion vessel (1) which is intended to be connected to a line system having two vessel parts (2, 3) which are connected to one another in a pressure-tight and fluid-tight manner in a peripheral connecting region (4), wherein the closed vessel interior (10) which is formed by the two vessel parts (2, 3) is separated into a water chamber (6) and a gas chamber by a diaphragm (5), wherein the water chamber (6) can be connected to the line system via a connection piece (7), wherein the diaphragm (5) is formed from an at least single-layered plastic and is in the form of a bubble, should be developed further such that the risk of fracture of the plastic diaphragm when subjected to loading during replacement is considerably reduced. This is achieved in that the gas chamber is formed by the diaphragm interior (9) and by the vessel interior (10) between that side of the diaphragm (5) which is averted from the water chamber (6) and the adjoining vessel part, wherein that side of the diaphragm (5) which is averted from the water chamber (6) is provided with perforations.
