摘要： A vehicle light includes a lighting unit (300) with multiple light-emitting elements (LEEs) (310), one or more couplers (320A,320B,320C), a light guide (300A,300B,300C) and an extractor (340A,340B,340C). The lighting unit has a curved elongate extension. Each of the couplers has an input aperture coupled with one or more of the LEEs and an exit aperture coupled with a first edge of the light guide and is configured to couple light from the LEEs into the light guide. The light guide is configured to propagate light via total internal reflection to a second edge of the light guide. The extractor has an input aperture coupled with the second edge of the light guide and an exit aperture configured to emit light into an ambient environment.

A spatial light modulator receives output light from the light source and outputs spatially-modulated light in accordance with computer-generated holograms represented thereon. A holographic controller is arranged to output a plurality of computer-generated holograms to the spatial light modulator. Each computer-generated hologram is arranged to form structured light having a corresponding pattern within the scene. The holographic controller is further arranged to change the pattern of the structured light formed by at least one of the plurality of computer-generated holograms.

An overall light distribution generated by means of at least two segments of a segmented light module is allocated to a light function. In order to facilitate the application of an animation of a vehicle lighting for a plurality of vehicle and environmental situations, the overall light distribution of the light function is built up from a plurality of light distribution segments (a-f; a-b; a-c). Each of the light distribution segments (a-f; a-b; a-c) is generated by means of at least one segment of the segmented light module. The plurality of light distribution segments (a-f; a-b; a-c) are switched on and/or switched off by the light control in a previously determined and stored sequence.

摘要： An automated headlight system for vehicles replaces the high and low beam with a continuum of beam patterns, with further variable spatial distribution of intensities and color spectrum. The digital-headlight is comprised of a controller, sensors and multiple, individually-controllable light-sources modified by optical-control elements to form narrow-beams which are then combined to create the overall headlamp beam. Utilizing real-time sensor data regarding beings, objects and vehicles in the way-ahead, as well as optional information on the driver, vehicle and environment, the logical controller dynamically adapts the headlight system's illumination so as to provide vehicle operators with optimal visibility while preventing discomfort-glare from reaching the eyes oncoming traffic or pedestrians.

For a given light distribution pattern, the duty ratio Di(%) is determined for each of the N multiple light-emitting elements. Multiple light-emitting elements are formed as control units having a sum total of duty ratios that is less than 100%. The light distribution controller controls the multiple bypass switches such that the multiple light-emitting elements included in the same control unit are not turned on at the same time.
